It sounds problem with back light inverter board that is not providing back light to view image of lcd screen.
Replace back light inverter board that would be located on side of cld panel and would be covered with shield.
Also check power supply voltage going to back light inverter board, its approx +24V
Thanks.

Hello, The reason your picture is not coming up on your screen is because there is a problem on the relay board of the television. The television is receiving power but it is not reaching the main panel of the television. All you have to do is to open up the television, then trace the plugs wire back to the inside of the television and you will locate the power panelof the television, you will then see a cable that connects the power panel to the screen. Replace this cable and reverse the process of dismantling for reassembling it back together, then you plug it to a power source and turn it on. Always make sure your television is properly plugged whenever you want to turn it on, because wrong inflow of power could damage some major components of the television. Take care

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced.

The red light turns on but no picture comes on

Get real close to screen and maybe use a flash light to shine on the screen and see if you can see the picture still, it will be dark and almost not visible but you should notice something move. If your screen has picture then you most likely have a back light problem. Most common problems are bad inverters, or the inverter controller card. possibly a bad power supply but most likely inverters, test each circuit, replace as needed.

Your set is still under a manufacturer warranty. Take your set back to Wal-Mart and they will send it out to be repaired, or give you a new one.

This is either a bad capacitor somewhere in the tv, or the very common power supply/high-voltage transformer.
