It's pretty easy. Start by selecting all icons at once. Just start in the upper left corner, click & hold the mouse button and go to the lower right corner and they will all be selected. Then click and hold one of the icons and drag them to the center of the screen and let go. If they snap right back you will first have to right click on a part of the screen without an icon and a menu will pop up. Go to the view menu and click on "Auto Arrange" to take off the check-mark.

How to change orientation of monitor

I'm a little unclear of what you are asking.

1) Screen has turned on monitor?

Press the CTRL key, and ALT key down at the same time.
Now tap on the Left Side Arrow key, until the screen is oriented correctly again.

2) Screen on monitor has shifted left, right, top, or bottom?
Use the controls on the monitor to set it correctly again.

3) Using dual monitors?
Right-click on an empty space on your desktop screen.
Left-click on Properties at the bottom of the list.
Left-click on Settings.

The monitor 1 icon is supposed to be your Primary monitor.
The monitor 2 icon is the Secondary monitor.

Ordinarily the Primary monitor is on the LEFT side, and the Secondary monitor is on the RIGHT side.
Just as shown in the Settings window.

If you wish to move a monitor to the other side, go to the monitor icon you wish to move.

Put your mouse cursor on the monitor icon you wish to move.
Left-click, and hold the left mouse button down.
Now drag the monitor icon you wish to move, to the other side.

Not doing it for you?
Then post in a Comment with more exacting information, as what it is that you wish to do.

Desktop display smaller than screen

1) Right click on your desktop.
2) Select Properties at the bottom of the popup menu. This will open the Display Properties window.
3) Click on the Settings tab (it's to the top right)
4) At the bottom left there is a Screen resolution heading with a slider bar beneath it.
5) Slide this bar to the left and right until you find the resolution you like.

Sliding the bar to the left = lower resolution, larger desktop icons and less quality.
Sliding the bar to the right = higher resolution, smaller desktop icons and better quality.

If your screen goes blank after you click Apply then immediately hold down the Enter key.

If this doesn't work then it just maybe the case that you need to set the auto screen fit function on the monitor itself using the buttons provided on the monitor.

Please rate this solution by clicking the thumbs up at the top right of this solution. Your rating is much appreciated.
Thanks.

Sounds like possibly the motherboard has thrown in the towel.

1 thing to check is did you apply new thermal paste to the processor before putting motherboard back in?

Did you make sure all wires were seated as you pushed motherboard back in?

Grid surrounding cursor and desktop icons

You have accidentally enabled "Universal Access"
Open System Preferences from either the dock or the pull down menu under the Apple in the upper left hand corner of your screen.

In System Preferences the 4th line down should have icons for "System" one of those icons (usually the right most) will be a blue circle with a person in it. This is "Universal Access"

Open Universal access and turn voice over and zoom off.

Monitor display shifted offscreen

I would be carefull with refresh rates unless you know the maximum and minum rates to apply to your monitor. I solved this problem before for someone and what i recomen is to set your normal desktop to the same resulution as your computer games. That way when you leave your games or reboot it will be the same. See what is happening is when you play your games it is a higher resultion then your normal desktop. And when you log off from it your monitor has to re adjust to the old settings. This will cause a shift. By setting them both the same you will avoid this problem all together.

Kogi L9ch 19 in flat monitor

(I posted the latest post.) Change the resolution. (Mine was 1024 by 768, so I changed it first to 800 by 600 and then back to 1024 by 768, and it's back to normal!)

Hope that helps.
