Question about Emerson Televison & Video
I have not been able to source a user manual for an Emerson TV model CR20203M8, do I have that model number correct?
My generic advice for you is to try a different cable for your TV to rule that out. A poor connection can cause the symptom you describe, and it is a much cheaper fix than any kind of service on the TV itself.
If you are using a screw-on type cable that carries video and audio, just replace it with another one. If your sound is coming from a set top box through red and white RCA cables, then try replacing that one.
Incidentally, if replacing your cable doesn't cure your problem, may I suggest running the sound through your stereo or portable audio device rather than trying to repair your TV? I suspect any repair cost to approach the cost of replacing the set entirely. Your TV may have a headphone jack on it, which you could connect to a small pair of speakers (like computer speakers) to extend the life of your TV and make the audio loud enough to enjoy watching it again.
I hope that helps.
