You need to connect it to a computer to test it
before replacing it check that you do not have a service system reinstall procedure , if you can reinstall system yourself it will save time and money. If you send it to factory they will reinstall the system and that is all, this without having your machine tested and inspected properly by a technician. what if the problem is the connector, the ribbon cable, or the board?
I suggest to test the disk first, eventually reinstall system if there is a procedure. If it does not work it is better to call in a technician rather then sending them the disk.
First you have to connect it to a PC, you can use an usb caddy enclosure, it will work as an external hdd, if it is faulty, then you may decide to replace it.
Then you have to connect back the disk and test if it works , checking all connectors.

Media buttons along top, power button, power indicator, and mousepad lights lite up as soon as AC power cord plugged in, without having to press power button at all. Nothing else ever happens, HD spinning...

1) Unplug unit.
2) Remove battery from unit.
3) Flip unit over onto it's top, showing the bottom to you.
4) On most HP's, there's a small compartment where your RAM is held. This is in the almost direct middle of the laptop. It should contain either 1 to 2 small screws. Remove the screws.
5) The door should be able to pull up and it will expose your memory.
6) Remove the memory (there are two latches that hold it in place on the sides of it, spread the latches and lift up on the memory.. you might feel a little pressure.. it's okay.)
7) After removing the memory, flip the unit back over, plug it in and power it on.
8) The unit will beep a couple of times and shut back off.. this is a good sign.
9) Remove power cable again, flip unit back over and reinsert the memory.
10) Screw the memory cover back down.
11) Reinsert battery, plug power cable in and try to power on again.

good luck, hope this helps! if it does.. please rate for me ! :)

I have a LG Tromm WM2277HS that just flashed the LE signal. We have had this for a couple years and never had a problem...what do I need to do to fix? I have unplugged but should I drain the unit as...

LE stands for a Lock Error and is to do with the hall sensor on the motor.
  • Unplug the Machine for 30 minutes, and plug back in. Try washing again.
Here is the replacement Hall Sensor: http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Motor-Sensor/1268238

Before you pull the motor apart to replace the hall sensor, first of all, check the wiring to the motor.

Unplug the motor, plug it back in and try the machine again.
  1. To replace the sensor, you will need to remove the back panel to access the motor.
  2. Take a 17 mm socket and remove the center bolt holding the rotor assembly.
  3. Pull the rotor straight out and place it off to the side.
  4. Take a 10 mm socket and remove the 6 bolts holding the stator assembly.
  5. On the inside of the stator assembly, you will find the motor sensor connected to a 5 wire connector.
  6. Remove the connector and replace the sensor.
  7. Reinstall everything back together and the unit should work fine.

You could also try this:
  1. Unplug machine
  2. Drain machine
  3. Open machine and rotate barrel clockwise 4 times and counter-clockwise 4 times
  4. Plug in, power on, and run regular cycle and see if the error still comes up.

Forgot my password I cant watch any channels

Hi,

The easiest way is to reset the TV. There are 3 possible resets for this TV. press and hold Action and Power on the TV until self check appears-- then unplug the TV wait for 30 sec. then plug back in. The reset should take care of any channel lock/ game guard settings

Also Volume down on unit and sleep on remote. Same process wait for self check then unplug for 30 sec. plug back in and turn on.

Last Volume down on the unit and RH-Split on the remote-- same process
hope this will be helpfull. Please rates me . Goodluck...................

How to work the hoover vision hd vhv 381 tumble dryer?

This may not be exactly what you want, but is useful information for anyone wanting to work on their hoover dryer, vision hd vhc 381 dryer.

Fixed: dryer not heating up (Hoover vision hd 381)

Just fixed a hoover vision hd 381 tumble dryer. Thanks to the help on this site and others. Thought I would share my experience here. Problem was tumbledryer not getting hot. Traced it fairly quickly to a blown heating element. Took the back heater cover off (bulging silver panel), unscrewed heater, peered inside and it was somewhat charred (tested the thermostats which were fine). Dryer works now.

The really tricky thing was unplugging the heating element to replace it. The plugs are located inside the main housing.

However, the advice found on much of the internet to how to do this is incorrect. In particular the advice to remove the drum is not correct.

The way you access the plugs is by pulling the main heating wire through the hole in the unit, and feeding the plugs through one by one.

Then you can simply unplug the old one, plug in the new one.

Two things are necessary for this:
i) Remove the rubber collar keeping the main wire secure in the hole into the main unit.
ii) Pushing the plastic grommet through the small hole in the main unit. This grommet immobilises the main wire - you won't feed it through without it being released. You'll see quickly what this looks like on the replacement heater you should already have. The white plastic grommet protrudes a little out of the back of the unit close to where the heating wire enters the unit. Pinch it with a pair of pliers and push it back into the unit. The wire will then be free to pull through, and one plug at a time will fit through till you have all four. Then just pull the plugs off (pushing the new ones on requires quite alot of force).

In fact it is not necessary to strip down the unit at all to do this, apart from one thing: putting the grommet back for the new heater. It needs to be pushed from the inside. This probably isn't strictly necessary (I say probably), but I did it anyway. I suspect the grommet is there so that if the heater hangs free, it doesn't pull the wire up and stress the plugs. But I wanted to put the thing back exactly like I found it.

However, you still don't need to take the drum out to do this. You do however need to take the plastic mounting off that supports the drum. Then you can reach in with your hand and manouver the grommet into place.

So the repair ideally should be firstly to replace the heater in the way described above. Then put the cover back on as you'll need the unit on its back later.

Briefly, instructions for stripping down the unit:
i) Unscrew the 3 top screws located on the back of the unit holding the top of the unit on. Slide the top back and lift it off.
ii) Disconnect the door by undoing the allen key screws. Once these are off, lift the door off.

iii) Unscrew the plastic faceplate from the top (2 screws), to reveal two of 8 screws holding the metal front in place. I wired the plastic faceplate (with control knobs) onto the unit so I could still access these 2 screws, without the faceplate hanging free and risking disconnecting something.

iv) Unscrew the remaining 6 screws (4 near the rubber seal, 2 at the very bottom). Remove the rubber seal carefully.

v) Lift the metal front off, and disconnect the wires (keep track of which goes where!) Place the machine on its back (support it with blocks where the bulging heating element is).

vi) Unscrew the four nuts holding the plastic mounting which supports the drum.

vii) Slide the plastic mounting up by about 10mm and hinge it out from the bottom. This lifts the felt seal off the drum. The machine needs to be on its back so the drum which is now only held on to the back plate doesn't stress itself under its own weight. Make sure you know where the wires need to be fed. I took videos and pictures on my phone at each step.

viii) It should now be possible to reach in past the drum and click the grommet back in place.

cheers

My external hard drive is not being seen by my computer?

1 of 2 things can be wrong...1 (cable may be loose) unplug the cable (ext HD) connected to pc, now reinsert back into pc..try this once or twice...until you see it appear in my computer....if this is not working and your ext HD came with a CD software..uninstall (make sure ext HD is not connected) software, then reinstall make sure your firewall allows it to be connected....this should do the trick...now plug HD back up to pc...do not format your ext hd unless you really really dont want the data on it (format erases everything)

Red light green light on off all time tv will not turn on

ok if you have just replaced the bulb, first try taking out the bulb unit and putting it back in, if you have already tried this, then disconnect everything from the TV unplug it find a nice sturdy place where you can place the tv, at the back of the tv remove the lower back panel ONLY, the screws you need to remove will have an arrow pointing to them, once removed clean all built up dust, remove cooling fan and clean from dust , check it spins ok, remove silver plate in the middle and remove any built up dust, just to the right of the fan there is a sensor unsrew and remove check it is free from dust, on the left of the fan is a micro switch unplug but do not pull on wires to the far right you will see a retainer bar upright (silver) remove this, gentley pull all the circuit board assembly back it will not come out far, on the back circuit board unplug the top two plugs top left but DO NOT pull on wires pull the circuitry board forward just a fraction more, and behind it is yet another multi plug, pull out the one to the left and plug back in but clear any dust in mean time, gently put everything back and plug all that you have unpluged back in gently, put all bars and covers back on, and re-install equip to tv........ this is what i did to mine when i had this probem today after bulb replacement and it now works fine

you need to unplug ever cable you have and every accessory you have. Unplug adapters memory units hd inter coolers every thing. let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Plug everything back in then press the button to open the tray to turn it on then put in a different game keep it open . Then when the menu comes go into a program so you can't see play game or close tray. Then when you are in the right place close the tray and it should load. This worked for me 2 times.
