Question about Cameras
Error 99 is caused by an unknown electrical problem that the camera detects, but doesn't understand. It can be caused by a bad lens, or poor contact/connection with the lens, or a power problem, or any number of other issues.
Try cleaning the contacts on the lens and camera's lens mount, and the battery, and camera's battery contacts.
Sometimes there gets to be a slight film on the electrical contacts of even new cameras & lenses. If that doesn't do it, try swapping lenses.
If still you get the problem , then it must need servicing.
Good luck and have a nice day.
Thanks for using Fixya.
