Since I'm having problems only with the veritcal adjustement of the red (the cross moves right & left but not up & down) I decided to replace only one of ic's. Just to be sure, can someone point me to the right direction? do I nedd to change the Q751(RVBVGV) or the Q752 (RHBHGH). I don't want to desolder/solder twice :) Also, if someone can tell me how to test the part Q783 p/n: 23202037 it will be very helpfull :) Thanks

Re: 50h82 red convergence ic replacement
Q783 is a 2SJ512 (FET) with part number 23205037. These are not the easiest to test. If you suspect that it is bad, just replace it. It costs $2.48. I only have a listing for one convergence IC (STK-392-110), but if there are 2, replace the one labeled RVBVGV or just swap the two to see if the convergence shifts from vertical to horizontal.

With your TV in setup Use a small magnet to "move" the non converged Red, Blue, or, Green color lines "crosses" (each CRT will need to be adjusted in turn) by moving the magnet close to the offending Red, Blue or,Green color CRT yoke or, tube while observing the movement of the CRT color line "cross" in a mirror ( try several places near the tube and, several strengths of magnets:) a refrigerator sheet magnet works well (you can cut these with a scissors to make a better fit or, apply less magnetic "pull." by making them smaller (you may need more than one magnet per tube to fix each CRT's convergence) When you have each CRT tube's convergence right, apply some clear silicone adhesive to the magnet and, permanently affix the magnet to the now "fixed" CRT tube exactly where you placed the magnet to obtain the best convergence on the CRT. (Do not adjust the "Green" CRT unless you must, as it is used as the color line to adjust other lines to)
If the tin can module you are referring to is the hyper module, it is common to replace all 11 caps because the factory caps ****. Check for bridged solder connections at STK's search the forum at electromaniacs for 50h81 :)
The panasonic rear projection convergence repair kit #2 is available for your model at the following link under convergence repair kits which has the ICs and resistors plus detailed instructions. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
Picture look double and the colors red come out the bottom of the screen on the lower left symptom is for busted convergence IC,you must replaced this IC in order that will works better again.STK 392-xxx ICs and it's associated resistor,this resistor automatically change value,can caused truoble even though you change the ICs.If you bring this to a service center they cost you $600 to $700,but if you buy the repair kit you can save more,don't wory it is very easy because there is intallation guide including in the repair kit. Feel free to ask whatever the result... click the link for sample picture guide step by step installation;
Does the blue and red crosses move at all ... eather vertically or horizontally. if they move at all then it may not be the chips.. could be a resistor. if the crosses dont move then it probally the ic. these chips run about 7 to 45 dollars apeace depending on type. at our shop we charge around 125 to put in.
