CD Player in Car

I have a 99 Rav 4. The radio/cd are the factory installed products. My problem is a week or so ago, the cd player started jumping tracks. I put a cd in and it starts playing track 16 then at the end of the track, it goes to track 4 and then to track 12, just all over the place. I tried a Memorex cd to clean the player but it made no difference.
Do I need a new cd player?

You may have it set to random. There should be a button on there that lets you choose what you want like menu and such things like that. If that is not one of the options then enless you want to not hear your songs in order then you need to get a new one. If you can't find any of those buttons on there and you need more assistance please send me a message and I will be glad to try and help you out! Thanks!

I bought a '96 Mustang with an Alpine CHM 5620 CD player already installed. The unit appears in great shape and looks as if it were installed by a pro. It seems to load up the CD cartridge and change CDs...

This model of cd changer doesn't have the fm modual built into it. So I am wonder how this setup worked before. Most of these units had an FM tansmitter in them and you would just turn on your factory radio and set the fm tuner to a certain frequency like 89.5 or 91.3, not excatly sure on the right number, but somewhere low in the range. Turn on the stero and try tuning into differnet stations.

But like I said this model is desgined to be used with a aftermarket head unit with the proper wired connection going from the cd changer to the head unit.

Our 2002 Dodge Intrepid has a cd stuck in the factory installed radio/cd player. How do we remove it?

sadly, almost always when this happens, the only solution is to remove the radio and take it apart to retrieve the cd and replace the radio with either an aftermarket or a factory replacement (factory replacements from the dealership are very expensive). The reason for replacement, unless you take your time and know what you are doing 90% of the time the radio wont work after it is reassembled and if it does work again, your cd feature probably wont work again... that been sad, try unhooking the battery for several minutes and then try to eject it again. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

Cd player in 2003 Jeep Liberty will not play or eject cds. This is factory radio with 6 cd changer.Radio works. Cd players makes clicking noise but does not play or release cds.

you might want to just take the factory cd player out and put a after market one in cause thats what i had to do on mine casue it costs way to much to get the original one replaced

Car CD player plays but has no sound

Does your car have a premium sound system? Assuming that your cd deck is fine, try connecting your remote turn on wire from the sony to the corresponding wire on the car(if you bought a wiring harness, just match colors). Also some chryslers used a ground to turn on the amps.. a black wire with a female connector as well as a heavy ground ribbon cable... connect those 2 AND the ground to your stereo to enable the amplifiers.

CD PLAYER FORD EXPLORER

I have an '03 Explorer with the 6 disc changer. It does the same thing. Many times, you can set the radio to "FM1" and hold down buttons 3 and 6 on the radio. This will put the unit into self diagnostic mode. After it runs the diag., turn off the ignition and remove the key for at least 30 seconds. Sometimes it takes a couple times but it always works on mine.

Installing cd player in my caravan

Just get an adapter harness. they are only about $10.00, and will plug into your factory wiring, just like the stock radio did, and then the other end plugs into your new radio. Skoche (sp!) is the major manufactuer fof these (WalMArt caries the in car audio), also ebay.
