NSX-AJ310 power problems

My NSX-AJ310 is having power problems. Every time I plug it in to use it, a little red light turns on and it makes a clicking noise. I have read the manual and couldn't find a solution.

That's nothing strange!! Mine does the very same thing. It's normal, the system's way of powering up, unless when you turn on the power, clicking noise intensifies....., if that's the case, give me a reply.

Okay, try with the remote control. If it comes on, what you'll need to do is to turn off the 'ECO' feature. You turn the system on, then press the 'ECO' button (which is located by the multi jog). You'll see ECO MODE, now press enter. Turn the multi jog until you see ECO OFF on the display. The clock will now show everytime you turn off your system, so in this case, I'd recommend you set your clock on the system... LOL! I hope that helped *somewhat*.

Sony nsx-40gt1 doesn't turn on and red light

The 2 blink error for this model is letting you know that you have a standby power voltage problem. 99% of the time it is your power board. If you bought this set with in the last year, you are still covered under warranty. I would call Sony or a Service provider to get your unit fixed at no charge to you.

I have a nsx-a508 unit, the 2nd tape deck got stuck i was able to open it but now neither deck plays and the cd player did work when this happened originally but does not work now ,the lights all come...

I think I can help you with the tape part, but as for the CD, that's a whole different story.

First, you should reset the unit by holding down the stop button (clear), and then pressing the power button. Everything stored in memory after purchase is cleared, including the radio stations, clock, etc.

Check if deck 1 is now playing.

I had a similar problem with my AIWA NSX-AJ310, and after some digging up, I realised that the belts were busted. They're not hard to replace though, unless you don't trust yourself to replace them. If you don't, let a qualified technician see about that for you.

The CD player in my system has retired also, so, we're in the same boat as with regard to that issue!!

Hope my solution was helpful!!

I have a Sony NSX-40GT1 that won't power on. You can hear the relay click after plugging in, and the red power led comes on, but when you push the power button it does nothing. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem. Can anyone help. If possible i'd like to fix it rather than go return it. It worked fine for a while and then suddenly started turning itself off. Now every time i turn it on it turns itself off.

It turns on, plays for a second and then it produces a "thump" sound through the speakers and then goes silent. And is completely dead.

The thump sound is being made by the capacitors in the power amp discharging as the power is loss, and is not a symptom of the problem. Have you checked all internal and external fuses?

How can I play my ipod on an Aiwa NSX-AJ310?

Simple!!! All you need is an 3.5mm to RCA cable, they're reasonably cheap.

Connect the RCA cable to the auxilliary inputs located to the back of your system.

Insert the 3.5mm jack into the headphone compartment of your ipod.

Turn on your system and then set the function to VIDEO/AUX. It'll be advisable to lower your volume, so that you may not cause any damage to your speakers!!

Play your ipod, make sure that all the volume is up.

Now, gradually turn up the volume on your AIWA system, and the music is supposed to be playing through your system. If not, refer to your manuals.

Hope this helps!!

Re-setting the preset stations

The remote control only controls tbass, if you need to control the bbe, you need to refer to the system itself.

The only way you can clear all the stations at once, is if you reset the entire system. follow the instructions below.

  1. Make sure the system is off.
  2. Press and hold the stop (clear) button (Centre of unit, with a small square centered)
  3. Now, press the power button. The system blacks out, then the demo comes on.
Now your ststions have been cleared!! You'll need to reset the clock also!

Hope this helps!
