Question about LG LDF8812 Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher

2 Answers

LG model LDS5811WW/02 has never cleaned the dishes since first installation. Put clean dishes in and they will come out dirty too! Have tried all dishwasher soap types and brands and drying agents. Always scrape and rinse dishes prior to loading. Dishes loaded various ways but problem remains. Repairman says unit is working fine. Also never dries dishes completely. Often leaves soap dispenser completely or partially filled. We are on a farm and have hard water but we have a softener/iron remover that works great. Previous dishwasher was a cheaper brand but always worked well. LG not interested in solving this problem. Extremely frustrated!

If the soap/detergent isn't completely rinsing out of dispenser, it sounds like water isn't directed the top spray-arm. possible a defective vario motor; as it directs water to the water channel that supplies water to the middle and upper spray arms.

If the unit is still under warrenty i would keep calling the service company out and keep the dirty dishes. i am an LG service tech and it is very hard to figure if the dishwasher is working like it is suppose to because you can not see inside the unit while it is running. if i where you i would call lg and demand a new unit. if you call them enough and have a service company come out like 3-5 times and they do nothing to fix the problem then will sometime replace the unit. or demand to the service company that they change the sump assy. the sump assy contains all the wash parts of the dishwasher. this is what i would do if i where you.

SOURCE: LG LDF6810ST Dishes Wet

To save energy, the LG LDFx810 dishwasher product family does not turn on the heating element during the drying cycle (third blue light blinking) rather it brings the final rinse water up to a high temp (I think it is 160 degrees (f)) and then uses a condensing drying system (mounted in the door) to pull the wet, hot air from inside the dishwasher. When it works, the dishes come out pretty dry (except for some plastics)

Check this:
-When the DW does its final drain, confirm that the water drained into the garbage disposal is really hot and not just warm. Be careful to not burn yourself and use a meat thermometer if you have one.

- After the water drains for the final time and the dishwasher blinks the third light, put you hand under the left hand side of the DW door. There is a slot down there that should be exhausting warm air.

If either thing is not happening, it is time to get a professional to check things out and make repairs.

Please post back here with what you find or have further questions, OK?

Trouble removing the macerator from a lg lds5811ww for cleaning. Want to make certain no foreign objects stopping blade.

After removing lower rack and then the spray arm (pulling directly up and out), remove the (approximately) 12 silver screws from around the guard. Lift out to gain access to the lowest sump area.
Watch out for broken glass down there, it is sometimes almost invisible... and sharp!

We have an LG lds5811ww dishwasher with IE error

check for voltage at the water valve when it should be filling Try disconnecting the Water Valve outlet from the DishWasher and run the output into a bucket if all is well with the valve then remove the door panel and inspect the wires near the bottom of the door. the wires get buried in the tar like insulation causing the wires to break as the door is opened and closed. That tar like substance is one of the worst things they could of ever put into that machine causes the wires to break apart adn become brittle

Have a 2+year old LG LDF6810ST dishwasher that shows no error codes but is not cleaning like it used to. Have city water, do not leave excess food on dishes when loading, am only using powder after...

Try these things in order:

-Try to use a name brand powder, rather then a generic. Even a small box. I had similar problems with my LG dishwasher when I tried to save money by buying a generic powder. My dishes did not get clean and white marks were left behind on my stainless steel DW liner and the dishes. When you ad the powder, do not over fill the dispenser. Add less than the full dispenser cup and close it. Place some powder in that shallow square indent on the dispenser lid to help the pre-wash cycle. Also, run the water in the sink until hot water runs immediately before you start the DW.

-If, after using Electrosol or Cascade for 2 - 3 loads and your dishes do not come out clean, then I would run a load of dishes without adding the soap. Start the dishwasher and wait for it to fill and begin to wash. Open the door and add one cup of vinegar (white vinegar is fine.) Feel free to ad another cup after the first wash water drains and the second wash water enters and the DW begins the wash cycle again. Run a load of dirty dishes with the soap and check for good cleaning.

-If the problems continue, it is time to remove the filter assembly by removing the 9 silver phillips screws from the filter assembly. You will also need to remove the lower sprayer arm by pulling straight up and then out. With a flashlight, inspect the sump area that was hidden by the filter assembly, looking for any debris that has jammed into anywhere down there. Watch out for broken glass as you feel around. Reassemble and test with a load of dirty dishes.

The poor drying may be caused by not keeping the rinse aid re-filled. Check that first.

Also, these water and energy conserving dishwashers actually use the "dirt" from the dirty dishes to help clean the dishes during the first two wash cycles. Simply clear the big chunks off the dishes and put the dishes in the DW.

Please report back what you find or if you have more questions. OK?

Mold growing on dishes

Recommend that you run another cycle with no DW soap aded, waiting until the dishwasher has filled with hot water and begins to do the first wash cycle. Then add 1/2 cup of bleach to the water and close the door. Allow the cycle to finish. Run it normally with a standard load of dirty dishes. Note: These high efficiency dishwashers count on the "dirt" of the dirty dishes to help wash/clean the dishes. Recommend you not rinse/wash the dishes before you put them in the dishwasher.

Watch for any occurrence of the black dots and repeat the bleach treatment.

The filter assembly in my LG dishwasher is always getting dirty.

Hi Jim,
Make sure that all the spray arms are clean and not blocked firstly
Pour a half a cup of white vinegar straight into the bottom (sump) of the dishwasher and run it on fast wash.
The vinegar has a small acidic base which breaks down fats etc.
This may fix the problem, or there could be another problem. It would be hard to tell without looking at the unit itself.

Water leaking from dishwasher lg model lds5811ww

The drain line is clean. Have you checked to make sure the the rest of the drain is clear all the way down to the main drain?. Also check the pump to make sure that it is working properly, it might be pumping water in, but it may not be wanting to pump the water out

I have a LG dishwasher model # LDS5811WW is there a filter of some sort at the water intake? My water has be known to have sand in it . The dishes are not all washing some are some aren't.

No filter in these units. It is possible that sand has gotten into the sump assembly and is not allowing the vario motor to properly switch between the upper and lower spray nozzles.

Dirty dishes on lower rack

Please confirm that you own an LG LDF7811 dishwasher and it is not cleaning properly.
-Are you getting any error codes displayed? -Did you remove the mesh filter and clean any debris beneath it plus rinse out the filter itself?
-Are you using a name brand diswashing powder? Avoid ultra-cheap detergent, especially in water-conserving units like the LG 7811. Never use DW gel or tablets in any dishwasher.
-Do not over rinse the dishes before placing them in the DW. The food granules actually are used to clean all the dishes before being rinsed away.
Please try these suggestions and reply to this message with what worked best and if the problem continues. Good Luck!
