Try running the dryer on air fluff so no power is going to the heater.if it runs you probably have a shorted heat element, unplug the dryer and check it with a meter, next time send model number and let me know what you find

also check the back of dryer where the cord connects to the dryer and make sure the wires are tight and none are burnt, unplug the dryer before you touch anything in the dryer and whenever you read out any part with your meter always pull at least one of the wires off the part you're checking

Kenmore Series 80 Dryer won't start after Circuit breaker was tripped

A breaker thrown that many times indicates a serious electrical problem. You need to have the problem taken care of by an electrician. You should be worried about the safety of yourself and your family.
That being said, I would guess that breaker has gone bad and needs to be replaced.

Kenmore dryer 70 series 66722690 - has power but won't start (no humming noise, no ticking noise from timer, and no light when you open door) nothing!

I would check the breaker before you go any further. Here are some things to remember when you do this. 1) The breaker for the dryer is generally located outside on the side of the house somewhere near the electric meter. Most 220vac breakers are, which include any electric range, cooktop, wall oven, etc. 2) When your checking the breaker, actually physically touch it. Sometimes breakers can trip a but the spring that actually pulls the breaker to off position is weak and by visual inspection would appear on. Just simply reach in and tap the bar lightly in the off direction. If it pops over to the off position, turn it back on then go check your dryer. If the breaker passes inspection, I would unplug the machine because there migfht be a short at the terminal block where the plug connects to the dryer. After you've unplugged it, remove the back and check to see if everything is ok. I have a strong feeling that you won't need to get to this point cause I'm betting on breaker.

I have a Kenmore Series 70 Dryer and it keeps blowing the main breaker on the electricity panel - the main fuse is 20 amps do i have a dryer or fuse issue ?

Your dryer needs at least a 30 amp breaker to operate correctly. Changing to a 30 amp breaker should solve your problem. Hope this helps

your voltage is not right as it should be 220 volts, check the outlet to see if you have 220 if you do then its the cord, if not then it is either the outlet or the breaker-panel, to check panel remove panel and test both legs of the breaker you should have 220 if not then replace the 30 amp breaker. Check for continuity of the thermal fuse located in the back next to the cycling thermostat (its white) You also need to make sure your breaker hasn't tripped or partially tripped. Try turning the breaker all the way off then back on. If those things are ok your next step is to check to make sure the belt isn't broken.

Kenmore elite dryer runs for about 3 min. then trips the breakers

The circuit breaker may be tripping because of a fault with the dryer or it may be a fault with the circuit breaker being weak.

From the description you give the circuit breakers trip frequently.

I'd suggest you first try selecting the no heat air fluff cycle and run it to see if the breaker trips. If the circuit breaker doesn't trip in air fluff then there is likely a short in the heating element.

With a clamp-on amp meter you can read the amp draw of the dryer when it is heating. With the motor and element both working you would see approximately 25-26 amperes being drawn. The breaker is rated at 30 amps. If the breaker trips and only 26 amps are being drawn then the breaker is the problem.

Try the air fluff cycle first and see if the breaker will trip. Then with additional details I may be able to help you further.

I have a Kenmore 300 series elect. dryer that keeps tripping 30 amp breaker. Have already changed breaker wiring going from box to dryer and installed new motor.

Check your load/AMP capacity.
If you have other electrical appliances on ie. Iron, Heater, toaster, Kettle these will contribute to the over loading problem.
Old homes sometimes only have 40-80 amp capacity
