I have the same problem. There is no manuel because this came with the older home I purchased. I bought a Chamberlain universal remote that requires me to use a chart to determine how many clicks to make to program it. It's not listed. Wrong universal remote? Doyou know how many clicks are required for this?.

Yeh, it is called reading the manual. Push and hold LEARN or SMART button for 10 seconds, Release, Push for 1 second and enter keypad code and ENTER, Kight bulbs should blink. Hit learn again for a second and push a button on a remote. Repeat for all remotes.

Remote starter stops working every few months, I was bringing it in to have it reset every time but shop is no longer open. I would like to know how to reset the unit myself.

Use this procedure to reprogram the remote transmitters

1. Turn "on" the ignition.
2. Press the Valet Switch 5 times and wait for horn confirmation of entry into programming mode.
3. Press and release the "Lock" transmitter button on each remote to be coded (one at a time).
4. The system will respond to each with an audible confirmation.
5. Turn "off" the ignition to exit program mode.

The unit should retain the transmitter codes almost indefinitely and should not require reprogramming periodically. I suggest that you call Omega Research and Development, the makers of Excalibur, to see if your unit can be replaced. Their number is 800-554-4053 and their is www.caralarm.com

How do i reprogram electronic door locks

Programming Electronic Door Lock Control System NOTE: The electronic door lock control processor (14B001) erases all previous keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601) from memory when the keyless entry remote transmitters are programmed or reprogrammed. 1. Turn ignition switch to the RUN position and momentarily short the two terminals of the program connector taped to the wire assembly and located behind the glove compartment. All doors should lock and then unlock. Remove shorting pin.

  1. Repeat the above step to program additional keyless entry remote transmitters into the electronic door lock control processor (up to four keyless entry remote transmitters maximum).
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF. All doors should lock and then unlock.
  1. Check operation.

Keyless entry doeasnt work

if its factory keyless entry, chances are your battery for your remote need to be replaced, the remote could also need to be reprogrammed... If it is an after-market system, there are several possibilities... wires could be pinched, the door lock solenoids could be broken or misaligned, the "brain" of the system might need to be reprogrammed.

Chamberlain Whisper drive remote control unit not working

THE NEW REMOTE MAY NOT BE THE CORRECT SYSTEM FOR THE UNIT YOU HAVE.
THE ONE THAT DOESN'T WORK MOST LIKELY NEEDS A NEW BATTERY.
NOTE IT MUST BE REPROGRAMED AFTER CHANGING THE BATTERY
