Question about Garden

Open Question

Craftsman 6hp,2350 psia, 2.2 gpm washer. Could never get siphon to work. No instructions came with it. The wand has an adjustable head. A friend of mine has a washer with interchangeable heads. One head is for dispensing the cleaner and the others are to wash off the cleaner. That leads me to the question on how my machine is supposed to work. And also can I convert my machine to the interchangeable head version

SOURCE: snowy picture, are heads dirty if so will head cleaner work, could there be another problem other than dirty heads?

if it is your heads, a head cleaner tape slowly grinds down your heads. Abrasion bad. Take to shop and have them clean heads with solvent and soft cloth or Q-tips. Might not be your heads, much electronics, but sounds like might be.

It is very common for the chemical injector valve on these to get gummed up from residual soap sitting in the valve. To clean it follow the chemical hose back to where it attaches to the pump. There will be a hex headed hose barb attached to it. Remove the barb from the pump. Underneath it you will find a spring and a ball bearing. Rinse the parts thoroughly and reassemble. You should also check the chemical strainer that goes into your chemical bucket. They can also become clogged and should periodically be cleaned.

Testimonial: "I had already disassenbeled & cleaned the spring/ball bearing. I found that, by removing the wand I freed up the restriction."

Engine runs fine. But it quits when I pull the trigger on the wand to start washing

Does this behavior change if the engine is warm and on minimum choke? Do you get any water spray before the engine quits? Carburetor could be dirty or float stuck. Try putting dose of carburetor cleaner through engine and cycle choke lever and engine speed lever back and forth while engine is running after it has warmed up without running water spray. See owners manual.

How do I solve my problem with my pressure washer not sending soap?

Pressure washers usually will not draw soap on high pressure setting. Switch wand or set wand to lower setting. Pin hole leak in soap line can also cause problem.

Depending on the hose type, any wand will work on any power washer, you may just need an adapter. Is the wand hard connected to the hose, screw on or quick connect?

The chemical injection system on my craftsman 2500psi washer will not inject cleaner through the wand. have cleaned all parts and still won't work

The chemical injection system works by siphon action. You must have the black or largest/ low pressure tip installed for it to work properly. If you feel any pressure at the wand, most likely will not work. If your wand has the adjustable type tip, it may have a restriction causing pressure and not allowing siphon action. If you continue having trouble with siphon, you could plug/shut of siphon and install an aftermarket injector between the wand and the pump (not expensive). Sold at www.pwmall.com Good luck

Pump appears to be shot in Generac 2.3 gpm 6hp Briggs-powered pressure washer. Anyone know how to diagnose pump problems?

Mine blew up. The OEM is ****. Went on-line to buy a similar but more powerful pump. There are lots of pumps that are an easy bolt on. It's mostly standardized. Google "pressure washer pumps"

How do I use the cleaning solution siphon hose?

Hi Pat,

First question. Are we talking about a pressure washer? Not an air compressor?

If so, The siphon only works with the lower speed wide angle jets.
If the nozzles are color coded look for black.
If not, check the nozzle with the biggest opening.
If the wand is adjustable, go to the lowest setting.

If you are talking about an air compressor, please disregard.
