The teflon on my pan bubbled right away also. The pan was preped acording to the instructions before using it. I don't own any metal utensils, and use only teflon safe sponges to clean. I love the skillet, but what caused so many customers to have this issue?

I am disgusted this this removable pan, also. I didn't even put it in the dishwasher. I washed mine by hand. The coating bubbled up after about 5 uses. My husband even noticed the awful surface from across the room and asked me what happened. This is awful and I think Rival should be ashamed to put something on the market as badly as this pan has turned out to be. I think Rival should mail out new skillet pans. The base, etc. is okay but certainly not the cooking pan itself. I, too followed all directions concerning prep and cooking utensils. I am going to write to see if Rival is going to replace the cooking skillet pan itself. Will update later to let everyone know how it turns out and what their solution is.

Also never used metal--only wood/teflon safe utensils. Rival already replaced one pan (was still under warranty). Same happening again. No problem with cooking, heating, etc.

I had the same problem. The non-stick surface chipped and came off. I called the number someone else listed...800-323-9519 and they were very helpful. They are sending me a new unit. It was great customer service.

I called the number someone else listed...800-323-9519 and received excellent customer service. Rival is sending me a new unit.

EVER SINCE i HAD THIS SKILLETT, ALL FOOD TYPES STICK TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PAN, HELP!

it is probably not a non-stick surface
having said that the cooking oil you use has a lot to do with sticking to the pan
If the instructions are correct you do not use spray oil, cooking oil or anything on a non-stick surface as It ultimately removes the non-stick quality of the teflon surface
If you must use some additive then rice oil is the best as it is supposed not to affect the surface of the pan and is better for you than cholesterol containing oils

I really don't think there is much you can do. You could ask a kitchen utensil distributor if they have a contact to have the pan re-coated for you, otherwise remove the rest of the coating and use it as a conventional pan.

Rounded bottom on frying pan

I did a CPR move on the bottom of my pans by turning the pan upside down and hanging the handle off the edge of my counter. I then pushed down with my palms. It was easy.

Non sick finish coming off

I posted a comment on a solution?? but want to e-mail you too. Line the pan with heavy duty aluminum foil before frying food. It's better than having teflon flakes on your meat.

Hi, Your skillet is either defective or someone has left it on high with nothing in it. Either way, if it is still under warrenty, I would try and return it. As there is some debate about the toxicity of teflon, I would be very careful about using this unit any further.

If you are going to keep the skillet, try using steel wool to remove the loose teflon, maybe even sanding it all off if you want, then polish with fine steel wool and use the skillet as a regular uncoated electric fry pan.

Hope this helps, and if you found this response satisfactory, please vote. Thanks and good luck.

I find that in viewing this site that the listed " solution" is not a solution at all! This skillet has a defective design and coating and should be recalled!
