Hi there,
This is not an easy question to answer in text form. I have made a video to show you how tostrip apart the brush and clutch section of your Dyson DC07 Vacuum. Have a look at the video and see if you need a repairer or if it is something you can do yourself.
If you find you need parts then have a look at Nelson Vacuums or VacuumSpot
If you find this information useful or the video helpful please take a quick moment to give me a thumbs up or leave a comment or testimonial. I really love to hear that these videos go to good use.
Happy Vacuuming :)

The beater bar will not turn

Hello rebh. Generally when the vacuum beater bar will not turn it is because the belt that turns this beater bar has broken.

That said, most of the dyson's require you to buy a beater bar assembly which includes the belt. Any vacuum cleaner repair shop will have this part. OR go to this link http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/brands-products/Dyson-Inc-Parts/Vacuum-Parts

Beater bar doesn't turn

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

Check that the brush control dial is in the centre position when upright and then moves forward when the head is released. If the brush bar is still not spinning when switched on in the vacuuming position, check the base for blockages and remove any threads or hairs from the brush bar as outlined in your user guide or on our website.

If you are still having difficulties, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards
Darran

Dog hair gets caught all the time in the belt drive spool, is there a fix for this other than having to pull it out all the time by hand? I have replaced the belt and the brush but this hasnt solved the...

My Dyson started making a loud noise when in "carpet" mode. After reading a ton of forums I thought it was the clutch assembly. Got a new one on eBay for a great price. Somewhat hard to replace, but thanks to this YouTube video, I was able to get it in: http://www.ezvacuum.com/dyson-dc07dc14-clutch-assembly-90025204-genuine-p-1636.html

HOWEVER this did not resolve the issue. I realized the beater bar was not spinning or was slipping. I thought I cleaned it all out but realized you need to take the beater bar out and pop the end cap and clean out the INSIDE of the beater bar (tons of lint and cat hair). I additionally sprayed WD40 in there.

It spins great now and in the end I think that's all I had to do was clean out the cat hair build up inside the beater bar. But now I have a new clutch & belts too. Hopefully won't have issues anytime soon.

DC07 beater bar does not move

this is a common problem it moves on air flow, the air flow may be good but there is stuff wrapped around the ends of the beater bar, disassemble bottom of the unit and clean real good. it comes apart real easy :)

Our Dyson upright vaccumms beater bar wont move. the vaccumm will **** up air but the bar underneath wont move. The gears are not working property.

It could be the clutch that's causing the problem or the belt. Bring your vacuum to a local repair shop and have it look at, but it sounds like it could be either one of those problems.

DC07 works with the hose - but not when upright

Check the actual brush bar is moving. If it is then there's definately a clog and it could well be behind the beater bar. If you can remove the sole plate (which is the grid in front of the beater bar) then undo it and check dirt behind the beater bar, belt and main dust channel. Also check the main inspection air ways and if the beater bar is clogged with hair, clean it off.

Change the beater bar

Hi.

It is relatively simple job but a lot to discribe on here so try this site http://dysonmanuals.llc.nu/ You will require clutch replacing manual this covers removing the brush roller beater bar.
