Question about Husqvarna Lawn Tractor - 54in. Deck, 26 HP, Model# LGT2654

1 Answer

Lgt 2654 runs fine. But when I engage the mower it pulls the engine down alot and when I start to mow it really pulls it down and it hammers. All the pulleys and idlers are free.

Sounds like the mower belt may not be routed correctly around the pulleys or may be running on the wrong side of a belt guard. Also check under the deck to make sure there are no obstructions to the turning of the blade or bent did not state where the hammering was coming from ( engine or deck ) I can only assume that it is on the these are the things I would check. Also check the tightness of the bolt on the main pulley sheave (the pulley on the bottom of the engine that drives the belt. the bolt is in the center hole of the pulley) if it is loose it can cause misalignment of the belt and juddering of the deck. If the bolt is tight, remove the belt from the engine pulley sheave and start the engine and look to see that the crankshaft is not bent causing the pulley to wobble....worst case scenario....will require new engine...hope this helps... ;-D

My Husqvarna LGT 2554 deck hung up on high spot mowing. Turned off deck & mower pushed by hand. Engaged deck, started to mow, wound to stop. Belts fine. Pull up on knob to engage, you get nothing.

The engine runs but the blades do not engage? Make sure the wire connecting the electric clutch is still plugged in. If all is connected and the belt is really fine, there is a problem with either the electric clutch or PTO switch.

I have a Husq LGT 2654 w/ 26hp Kohler. I got this from a box store used with 7.8 hrs on the meter. When I got it home I noticed that the motor doesn't seem very powerfull. Compared to my 24hp Briggs w/...

The surface of the coil will not affect it performance.
Ir sounds like you have a carburetion or fuel supply problem.

Since this is happening after it runs for awhile try loosening the fuel cap as it venting system may not be working.

Husqvarna Lawn Tractor LGT 2654 (from Lowes) B&S Intek V-Twin 725cc 26 gross hp 110 hrs. I had a couple of problems with the 2654 in the past but they were electrical. Now the engine seems to...

A common loss of power problem with B&S V twins is a set of crumpled valve push rods. Means you are running on one cylinder which is generally OK unless you also want to mow. Easy to check, pull one plug wire at a time off. If it continues to run on one cylinder but not the other, that is your dead cylinder. As the intake is not opening, there will not be a wet plug. Costs nothing to check and could be your problem.

Once engaged and start mowing, you can mow for about 20 feet or more and then it just slows down and the engine wants to die, but stop pulling immediately and the engine catches up and goes back to full...

This actually happened to a friend of mine! I saw it! Mow about 20 feet, and had to stop, then 20 feet...well, you get the picture. It was his air filter! Stopped up pretty good. We blew it out and it worked fine.
I really hope this helps. --W/D--
