You may trying pulling the battery out while its unplugged. Another issue may be the socket where the AC adapter plugs into the laptop. Is it loose, broken prong inside the socket. It should have been able to power up at least for a brief moment just on the battery. Hope this helps ya.

You need to goto the manufacturers website, find their support section and there should be a list of drivers for your specific machine. Installing these should resolve your problem. I have a list of links to most manufacturers drivers on my website.
Hope this helps,

I don't have no driver from toshiba tecra M1

Toshiba is very good with the tech support. I had the same problem and they sent me the original installation disk that came with the computer. these disk will look at your system and install the needed drivers. It will also restore the computer to the original configuration when it was first purchased. If you use this option you will loose all that is in the computer now. YOu must backup anything you want to save. I do this on my own computer when it gets to the point that nothing is working properly. I have also found original disk on Ebay for older computers.

Can you please inform me how to perform the ''reset the CMOS'' in a

This will require you some disassymbling the bottom of your laptop and look for a cmos battery, disconnecting it then replug.

Why not consider to clean/reseat it RAM, most of it does not make a unit to turn on when not detected.

Toshiba Tecra 8100 doesn't charge

Good morning, Steve!
Plain and simply, you have one of two problems.

First, the power socket is loose or defective. A loose socket will usually allow you to wiggle it around when the cord is inserted. Not a lot of movement, but some. There should not normally be any movement. Whether it is loose, or defective, the motherboard will have to be removed for replacement/re-soldering. This is not an uncommon problem.

Second, The A/C adapter cord has a broken wire in it. This is most easily repaired by replacing the cord if separate from the adapter, or replacing the adapter if the cord is not removable.
If you are adventuresome, you may be able to cut part of the covering off of the cable and repair it.

If you need any additional information, please feel free to ask. If this information has assisted you in the resolution of you problem, please return here to give my assistance an appropriate final rating. Thank you, and have a super day!
