Question about Dell Dimension 4600 PC Desktop
I have a Dell computer that the sound does not work. The speakers are working. It is an XP version program.
I purchased a new sound card and replaced it.How I can program to remove the previous card and program the new one. It has a Windows Millenium Edition program. The new card is Diamond xtreme sound 5.1
For old card if it is on board sound then just you need to disable sound in bios.
For that when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or del or ALT+F2 key to enter in bios then go to advanced and disable sound or audio .Then save settings and exit.
But if old sound is not on board means it is pci sound card then you need to open cpu cabinet and remove sound card from it then install new card into pci slot and install it';s driver from disk which comes with sound card.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.
