Question about Keurig B50 Coffee Maker

1 Answer

Keurig B50 My coffee maker quit working this morning. I cleaned it with vinegar and it still does not push the water through when the k-cup is in the chamber. It pushes the water through without the k-cup.

Coffee maker pushes the water through the valve that empties into the holding tank..puts about 1/5 the normal amount into the coffee cup.

Not sure what to do now, the water comes thru to make coffee if I hold the plastic tube in the water container shut.

My Keurig B50 has started doing the same thing! I descaled the unit without any difficulty; full cups of the vinegar are dispensed through, but when coffee k-cup is added to the holder, I too, have very minimal delivery of coffee.

I have the same problem, but overcame it with a reusable K-cup. They are available online and at some national chain stores for about $15.00. It's a not as convenient as K-cups, but better than throwing out a $150 coffee maker.

How do you fix a keurig machine that produces only a half cup each time

Try de-liming it first. Use CLR and follow the instructions for a coffee maker. Then rinse with a vinegar and water solution. Then clean cold water. Let me know if it is fine or improves.

My keurig coffee maker is flashing the words DE SCALE. What does that mean and how do I fix it?

"Scale" is deposits of minerals, etc. normally found in water. Boiling a container of water (in a pot, or coffee maker in this case), leaves small amounts or "deposits" of these minerals on and near the actual heat source. If not removed, they can slow brewing time and more importantly, adversely affect the taste of coffee.

Descaling should be done at regular intervals to prevent this from happening. Your machine lets you know when to perform the descaling task. There are a number of products sold in your supermarket that will do this for you - but one of the least expensive; and just as effective - is to use white vinegar. Here's how to do it:

1) Drain your Keurig coffee machine over a sink.
2) Fill the machine with undiluted white vinegar.
3) Run the brew process at least four times, pouring the cups of vinegar back into the coffee maker.
4) Optionally, let your Keurig coffee maker sit for a few hours, then run the brew cycles again. Pour the vinegar into the sink and drain any remaining vinegar.
5) Fill your coffee maker with fresh water. Run multiple brew cycles with fresh water each time to thoroughly rinse the machine before returning to normal use.

That's it!

I know this will help & good luck. Please rate my reply - thanks!

How to descale

Use 1/2 cup white vinegar in 1 quart water. No need to let it sit. After descaling, remember to run at least 3 cycles with clean water to remove any vinegar.

Keurig starts & stops without brewing coffee, just descaled

The pic is clogged with coffee or the air bladder is bad. Use the tool on the underside of the tray to clean out pic. If that doesn't work, the bladder will be bad.

Also, if you have an in sink garbage disposal, don't waste the hot vinegar.  Pour it into the disposal, turning the unit on as you pour, off when you're done.  The vinegar is mildly acidic and will disinfect the disposal unit.

Keurig Coffee maker not taking in water

Mine started off that way, then quit pumping any water through the K-cup. I overcame the problem with a reusable K-cup. If it will run a full cup through without the K-cup in place, this will probably work for you. They are available online and at some national chain stores for about $15.00. It's a little more inconvenient than K-cups, but better than throwing out a $150 coffee maker.
