In most new models there is a large butterfly knob in the middle of the agitator under the fabric sofner dispensor (take it off) undo the plastic screw take the ag out clean and replace if its an older model it will be a 10mm bolt undo as per plastic screw and replace

Noise under agitator There is a noise under the agitator only during wash cycle that sounds like a screw grinding on something. There's no noise on any other cycle

Theres most likely a coin in your plastic water pump. Will blow a hole in the pump at some point unless you get it removed. Average repair bill to replace pump $250

How do I remove the agitator from LG top Load washer

the agitator is held by a bolt with a 7/16 drive nut located inside the middle of agitator from the top downward? however by ur description sounds like maybe u have bad bearing in the hub? the cam dogs in the agitator dont usually make any noise especially when bad they just dont allow the agitator to move or catch the groves to agitate. The grinding could also be coming from something stuck inside the tub or on its outside and thus is hitting the wall lining and makes a screeching scraping sound, Ive seen this several times, a bra wire, or loose coin or key, etc

LG top loader slapping noise in wash cycle

Its not the usual problems found on Lg machines. sounds like you have possibly one or more coins being picked up underneath the pulsator. To check, remove pulsator with screwdriver and check .Very possibly you have a bra cup spring caught between the two drums which make an akward sound.

From the sounds of things, you are talking about a front loading dryer. The agitators in the dryer can get coins stuck inside them. Remove the top and rotate the drum to reveal the screws which hold the agitators to the drum. Remove the screws and the agitators, empty the coins or other debris and reinstall.

The loud squeal sounds like the pad under the open side of the drum is worn out. There may also be a dry main bearing in the rear of the dryer. Lubricate the bearing and reinstall the drum. The squeal should disappear.

If this is not a dryer or a front loading washer, none of these suggestions will apply, Sorry

There are two places a coin could be that will cause a noise. Either in the basket under the nutator or in the pump. If you hear the noise after the basket stops from the spin, look under the nutator, if you hear it during the cycle, check the pump. If you only hear the noise during the agitation, not the spin cycle, you may have a u-joint going out.
