The problem has been solved .. . thank you . The hand set had in fact been somehow un registered from the 'Sender ' . I looked up how to register the hand set ( no way would I have thought of holding down the page button on sender for a few seconds , actually until it starts to flash and then you have (via the menu ) to get the hand set into register mode ( you will need your PIN no. if you changed it from factory default ! If you haven't changed it then factory default is ' 0000' ) . . . punch that in to the hand set and then bingo , they are in touch again . . . .
It took HOURS to get it right . . . I tried removing CIT200 and Skype and then reload into computer . . . and I'm not sure now if I have the upgrade or not of CIT200 . . . this morning had the on going problem of phone saying ' unavailable ' and the only way out of this is to reboot my computer . . . that mostly works ! Apart from these BIG niggles the system is clear and good when all configured . . . NOT found the answer to the Niggles yet ! . . . . . ( Why no hard copy of the user manual . . . ridiculous!)

I have fixed it!!!! After changing to Vista the phone would get the "Unavailable" instead of contacts list. I have deleted the existing CIT200 driver (which worked well with XP) and downloaded the new version from Linksys website for CIT200, it is 1.0 from 2007. After download the CIT200 icon appears on your desktop, you doubleclick on it, it will say "another program wants to use Skype", you allow it, and there you are! The contact list appears on your phone.
I reregistered my handset like somebody else did and I have had no further problems. Also I have Skype start up when I log on to my computer. I had it set so that I had to log on with my password everytime because of some unauthorized calls. Don't know if that makes any difference, probably not, but after I did those two things it seems to work fine.

CIT tlelphone indicates that the connection is ready but give the message on th phone indicates that the contacts are unavailavble. How do I correct this?
as above but have tried all thats been said and it still shows as disconected any other ideas please
I have the same exact problem, when I hit the contacts button on the bottom I get unavailable and the phone won't work. Sometimes when I shut down the computer and restart it will work. sometimes I have to restart several time before the phone will work. It's a real pain. I tried to register but that doesn't work either. I contaacted linksys support but so far that hasn't been helpful as everything they have told me to do hasn't worked. The phone used to work perfectly. Help...............fjoquest
Because the battery was removed from the handset o'night now it says it is unregistered. What is the solution?
