Hi there,
If you are using Windows, simply use file explorer to locate your SD card, then 'right click' on the mouse and select 'Format' - Ensure you format the card with the correct capacity - i.e. 1gig, 4gig etc...
Cheers.

Or check the Lock switch on the card is in the up position, like the one on the picture on the left.
This is how the switch should be.
No switch on the card is the same as locked.
Be aware you can format a card in a computer or even in another camera. Before you start using the card in your camera, use the format option in your own camera. Some camera's won't work if the card is not formatted in the own body.

Media card will not format in my camera

Sounds to me like your SD card is dead. I would try a second SD card and see if that solves the issue. I have an android cell phone that has had that problem with 2 different SD cards. I would try either a second SD card and see if the camera is happy with that OR try the card in the computer and see if the computer is happy with it. If the computer can read it, try formatting it with the SD formatting tool (https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/) and see if that fixes the issue or not.
But I'd be willing to bet that the card is toast. They are only good for so many writes before they fail and, at least with my cards, when it fails, everything is gone on it and it asks to be re-formatted in every device you put it into. Mine worked on the computer for data transfer after a format until I unplugged it and plugged it back in; then it was asking to be formatted again.
if you have the original receipt you may be able to get warranty repair/replacement on the SD card.

My sd card does not show its property and doesn't format it?

normally when this occurs, its means the SD card is dead and u will need to replace it.

try connecting the sd card into a different computer or another external SD card reader. If it shows up . right click and click format. If it says it cant format it it means the card needs to be replaced.

When i try to format my micro sd 2 gb card it say that it need to be formated but when i click for it format it say windows cound not complete the format

This is what happens: the memory chip inside the card has failed and the file system on it is corrupted; this corruption is detected by Windows that asks you to format the card to fix the file system; the format fails because the chip is defective and cannot be properly written.
This cannot be fixed, the card is dead. Junk it and buy a new one.

My 1GB micro SD memory card needs formatting. But, when I am formatting it fails. ?What should I do?

Try formatting it in another device such as another card reader with another PC or formatting it in a digital camera

If that doesnt work, its likely the card is dead

Formatting SD card

I had this problem too. Some SD cards won't properly format. My trick was I formatted the card in a different device first (canon Powershot A-630) then put the card in the R-09 and formatted it again. it took about 8 seconds for a 2 gig SD card to format.

2GB SD card no recognized

sir probably your 2gb is dead or not factory formatted... just take your receipts and take that back to where you bought it... if it is formatted probably its the same problems of those who formatted their SD with windows xp... that worsen your problem cause i think you just void the warranty of your SD card... try your SD to other card readers and if something pops like "your drive is not formatted... format i now... just click no"
