Mcdevito75 here, You can try online at Continental watch.com However the numbers on the movement itself count the most, numbers on the watch face and back cover help. HINT!! -- If your Continental Watch has thick hands It"s most likely before 1965, if your watch has thin hands it"s most likely after 1965. Best bet, look for a small watch repair shop in your area, they can guide you too a shop that will know if they don"t. Also, you can check with any Antique shops in your area too.

Bulova accutron 2 years old stopped running after jeweler replaces battery. You could hear a hum but it quit working. Cost to fix?

The first thing I would do is take it to another jeweler (preferably in a higher end store), ask how experienced he/she is with your brand of watch, find out if they are the senior jeweler in the shop and just get a feel of whether you trust their opinion or not. Explain to them what happened and ask them if they can tell whether or not the person who changed the battery for you could have caused the damage to your watch. If they confirm that the person who changed it likely or certainly caused the damage, ask them to write a note explaining what the original jeweler did to cause the malfunction and then call the jewelry shop and tell the owner what you have found out. If they get huffy with you and tell you to buzz off, you have to then decide how much trouble the watch is worth. You can always take them to small claims court, but most shops will back up their work and if you have solid proof that their employee screwed it up and you don't let them back you down, they will likely (eventually) make things right for you. Best of luck!

I have purchased a vintage wrist watch, makers name is delvina of geneve. The serial number is 3039. Would like to know how old it is?

mcdevito75 here, any Geneve watch is very good, from the little I know and without seeing the watch, note the hands carefully, if they are thick the watch could be from the 60"s or before. If the hands are thin then the age of the watch could be from the 70"s, the Geneve name though is very good, they also have Geneva name but Geneve is the name to look for. Also a jeweler can give an approx. age.------- Thick hands, 60"s or before, ------- thin hands, 70"s and after.

Battery was replaced by a jeweler. Since that

As the jeweller is not a watchmaker, he/she even did not realise the watch is not working properly. It sounds like your watch is having jammed gear train or the jeweller did not know how to reset the watch. Go to this website: www.tissot.ch
If you will not find solution there, you will have to look for watchmakers help.

Mens bueche girod 9k gold watch the gold band is 1 inch short

You have two options and for both you need to find yewellery repair shop.
Option1) Some jewellers sell NOS (New Old Stock) gold watch bands. If your vallet is thick enough for this option- shop around and buy one.
Same jewellery repair shop will be able replace the old band with the new one, even if the band is soldered to watch case.
Option2) In the same shop ask if they can built up (lengthen) the clasp. In this case you will spend less money, but you will loose on looks.
Note: As mostly all gold watch bands are maschine made, it is allmost impossible to repair or lengthen them in a good looking way. Anyway- consult the jeweller first and see what he says. He may have some NOS witch is exactly matching your old watch band pattern.
Good luck.

Helbros Invincible c.1970 wristwatch hairspring

Take a closer look at the movement, especially under the balance wheel (use an eyeglass). There should be movement code. By that you can find the real movement manufacturer and the hairspring or balance complete will be easier to trace.

I have a little girls carousel that needs the top fixed, i cant seem to find anybody that does this. People keep telling me jewlers.

I suggest you have to find the decent watcmaker. Clokmaker would be even better.
Despite of being under one roof for ages, watchmaking is completely different trade to jewellers and jewellers wont be able to help you.Regards
