You can download a manual for almost any equipment by Googling the make and model followed by the word Manual note spelling, then follow the appropriate link(s).
Hi Peterlee Sam I could not find any drivers on the web, but did find the email address and some phone numbers for support. Dear June, Yes, you might be correct. The cord may be faulty. Take out the memory card and insert it into a memory card reader. Then connect the card reader to your computer and see whether you can download the photos.
Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

Go to the Vivitar website (www.vivitar.com) and click on the support menu. Select the category and model of your camera and download the driver. Install the driver and then connect your camera. I would've given you a direct link, but I didn't see ViviCam 35 as a model number, so you'll have to get the model number off of the camera's ID plate.
