Is it the clutch version? If so there is a knob on the bottom of the Dyson.
This is to turn the brush on and off, sometimes it can get knocked.

If not, check your current belt.

If you visit http://www.sparesaver.com/help-and-support/dyson-section/dyson-technical-advice-450/ they have alot of info on repairing dyson cleaners AND they sell the parts, cheapest ive seen online.

Hope that helps

Loss of suction and roller bars.

Hi Kathryn, it's Jack at Dyson.

If the issue you're having is with a Dyson vacuum, can you let us know which model you own?

If you can give me some further details I should be able to help you with your vacuum.

Best wishes,

Jack

I have a Dyson Telescope vacuum. Everything works fine, except the attachment used for floors. I can feel air and suction going through the attachment, but the brush doesn't rotate or move at all....

If you have suction as you say, the tool is faulty.
They come apart so you can clean them. remove all hair and debris from the roller brush (use a coin to split it using a quarter turn on the two/three screws). Try turning the brush with your fingers. If it is stiff, it needs attention to the bearings in the tool probably. If it turns OK, then the mini turbine inside is faulty -- replace the tool.

My Dyson animal seems to have an electrical issue that I am unable to pinpoint. Neither the wand nor the floor vac have any suction AT ALL. In fact the vac makes absolutely no sound and you wouldn't even...

there is a filter inside the canister, and by your description it sounds like it needs to be cleaned. if you remove the filter and blow it out using a air compressor or using a slightly ridged brush and tapping the filter out this should solve your suction issue.

My Dyson Animal has good suction and works fine for actually picking up dirt, but when I use the vacuum with the roller, I hear a grinding/rumbling noise. Its only when I use the vacuum with the brush...

Trace the path of the suction into the tank and see if there is anything loose or ingested. Also, remove the brush and clean as best you can. Perhaps there is something caught in it. Lubricate where it makes sense with some WD40.

The roller for my dyson does not turn and it does not pick up anything. Howevever, the hose suction is fine and I have checked all the places for dust blockages.

That means that the belt is stretched, worn or broken. You need to replace the belt. You can get replacement belts and view the manual with instructions here:

Dyson DC07, too much suction...?

sounds like one of the filters is either damaged IE a hole or tear or is not seated correctly
