Unfortunately not as the IP address will by dynamic and change each time it accesses the internet. The only constant would be the machines MAC address as this is unique for each device. However I do not believe it is possible to trace this. Hope this helps,

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Homemade laptop Anti-theft program

0cc7878.jpgNobody would like to have their laptop stolen or any of a kind to be stolen for that matter.
So I thought of a HomeMade Anti-theft Laptop Security Setup where if ever your laptop gets stolen atleast there is a way to trace it and a chance of retrieving it.

Ingredients:

1 laptop
1 Outlook 2003/2007
2 Email Accounts
1 Internet Connection

0949f61.jpg

First, you must have a working email account in your Outlook that can send & receive emails. Then set it up to Auto-Reply for the procedure click here http://dongkikz.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!940C0A5C3485C53D!205.entry.

Second, you must setup Outlook to open in Startup. Just Copy and Paste the Outlook icon in the Startup folder.

Third, you must have a second email address.

Lastly, A Website that can trace an IP address location like www.whatismyipaddress.com
(From here you must also learn how to look for the source IP with the raw source from an email details information )

How it Works !

If your laptop gets stolen. Send an email to it. The theft boots up your laptop soon after and by any chance his connected to the Internet, then your lucky enough. Your Outlook opens up in Startup receives your email and replies. You get the IP address and traces it ! Holy Jupiter your laptop could be in Venus by now.

But then again, this is just a HomeMade one. Something that just came out of the d0ngkikz? mind.
I just believe in the saying that Imagination is better than Wisdom.

"Great inventions always starts from the most simple ideas."

Any comment would be greatly Appreciated. Thanks!

Hi i cant connect using wireless on my lenovo.

Welcome to fix ya

If you are having problems connecting wirelessly using your lenovo G550 here are steps that you could try

1. Press FN+F5 ( this turns the wireless adapter on/off)

2. Make sure that the wireless switch is toggled on. The wireless switch is located on the front of the laptop.

3. Make sure that the drivers for your wireless adapter is properly installed. To do this click on start then type device manager. click on device manager. click on the arrow next to network adapters. Make sure that the wireless adapter does not have a yellow exclamation point next to it. Also if you dont see your wireless adapter here check for a yellow question marrk in other device. If you dont have the driver you can download it here. www.consumersupport.lenovo.com

I lost my lenovo laptop yesterday , i complaint in Police. they ask for Mac address . but i dont have. can i take it from Lenovo with the help of my serial No.

The MAC address is the address that is assigned to the LAN and/or wireless cards in your laptop.
These are permanent addresses and you need to access your laptop to get these addresses.
Lenovo cannot give you these addresses with your serial number, they do not keep a record of MAC addresses.

Here's a tip most people never think about.
Your router/modem if it employs DHCP will often retain the MAC address of devices that connected to it in the DHCP lease table for days.
If you hook another system into your router, and lets say the router's IP is 192.168.1.1 , you would then point your browser there, and go through the various menus until you find the DHCP table. If the name of your old computer is there, you should be able to get the MAC address as well. It will be a set of six 2 character sets such as 01:23:45:67:89:AB - - My Lenovo
In the case of a cable modem without a NAT, you aren't at a total loss there either, because your ISP should be able to tell you the MAC address you were connecting with.
If you want better instructions on how to get the MAC address from your router, I will need the make and model of the router / modem.

Lenovo S10 netbook wirless connection problem

Check the IP configuration of both computers, they should have the same address range if not it needs to be changed.

ON each computer click on Start - Run and type cmd and press Enter.
This will open a DOS box, then type "ipconfig" (without the quotes)
The IP address range should be the same on both computers (ie the first 3 groups on numbers in the IP address has to be the same on both computers) only the last group has different number.

Get back to me if you still have problems.
