Check fuse, but if there wasn't a fuse , your Altec need repaired to fix broken components in power circuits, could be the resistors, diodes or even transformer.

Can someone help with the DC Volt, amperage and polarity of Altec Lansing 120i speakers please. I lost mine. Thanks.

Polarity and V are usually indicated somewhere near the plug. If not open the one with the plug, look at the wires connected to it, usually black and red, if still not clear follow one of the wires to the first connection point, if its to an electrolytic cap, the caps polarity will tell you what the polarity is at that input, the plug will be the same. The amperage really doesn't matter unless its too low, it can be much higher then rated, since trahsformers are self regulating for amperage.

Altec Lansing computer speakers , power requirements

You have to find out what the speakers are rated at then go form there. There is usually a placard or sticker on the back that says what watts and voltage they are rated at. Then you have to find out what plug goes in. Or you just buy an OEM plug

What's the volt & amps of Altec Lansing AVS300 2.1 speaker system

Your adapter is Part No. AVX300-A6859, Model No. 9701-00748-IUND.
Or You could get a universal that is rated for output of 18volt DC, 650ma, Center Positive.
I have used a 15volt DC, 900 ma with no problem, but I never run the volume high.

Good Luck

Altec Lansing VS4121, New Speakers, No Sound

If the speakers are brand new it makes me wonder how you know they worked fine in the States? I am also wondering how they were transported due to them probably being intolerant to extremes of temperature/humidity and probably vibration.

I am also wondering if you are using the correct supply voltage and type of supply.
If you are using the power adaptor supplied for use in the USA, it would probably be incompatible with your supply even though you are using a transformer.

If you are certain the speakers are in good order I suggest you obtain a power adaptor designed for your 220 volt 50Hz supply. I have browsed a little and cannot find a note of the power requirements for the integrated amplifier but this is presumably marked on the adaptor, the speaker or in the manual and so the power adaptor could be checked on and off load with a suitable voltmeter. I would be surprised to learn the supply is adequate
