Question about Cameras

Re: Casio EX-S5When I turn the cameral on the screen shows 'the card is locked'. If I push any control button other then the 'on' button the camera shuts down entirely. I have to remove the battery and install it again to get the camera to do anything. Then it is a repeat all over again as I described above

A locked card usually means that the slide switch on the side of the card is in the locked position. Move it.

When I switched on the camera, the screen showed me "The card is locked" I assume it's talking about the memory card...but why???? My camera is a Casio Exilim EX-Z600

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

camera's onboard memory is only 8MB, maybe 1 or 2 high resolution photo. delete the photo on the camera to clear error message and use only no more than 2 gig of sd card. It does not work with higher than 2 gig which is SDHC type sd card.

Casio exilim ex-80 always shows SD card as locked

the SD card should have a small switch on the upper left side it slides from lock to unlock if this doesnt work Look in the card slot - there may be a small bit of plastic sticking out over where the card's locking switch would fit when the card's inserted.

Hi!

Can you check if there is a small push button on the memory card itself? It could that it is currently on write-protect mode.

I have exactly the same problem with my camera, admittedly it did get dropped on the floor. There is no other damage to it but now cannot use it as the camera says the card is locked.....I have tried a new sim card and also locking and unlocking the card but this does not work either.

Any ideas would be gratefully recieved as the camera is only two weeks old!
