For the money that thing costs, I'd be all over Dell to have it fixed. Still under warranty?

The problem has been solved in the meanwhile sorry for not getting back earlier :)
First problem was overheating processor due to watercooler not being fixed firmly on the processor (caused the fans to spin like mad and make a lot of noise) solved by gently pressing the cooler against the CPU.
Second problem appeared one of the cards was malfunctioning causing artefacts, so in the end I ended up returning the two HD 5770' s and asked for a single HD 5870 and so far no more problems :)

Try going to the alienware website and updating the drivers for all your components, otherwise call dell customer support as they generally provide excellent service.

Sorry for getting back so late...
I had overheating problems in the beginning which caused these symptoms.
First cause was the watercooling plate not touching the CPU firmly causing overheating and excessive fan noise due to the fans trying to cool the system.
Solution was gently pressing the cooling plate against the CPU.
Second problem was one of the Graphic cards was defect so turned it in for another but temperature problem remained (think because of the two graphic cards being very close to each other, generating a lot of heat and almost no place for the air to go to.

Ended up turning the two HD5770's in and traded them for one HD 5870 performance is nearly the same and no problems at all anymore :)

The temperatures I posted initially were taken from the alienware control panel tool but seemed not to be really accurate.
When using GPU-Z I found out the real temperatures were way higher :)

Alienware x51 random restarts [solved: Dell had the audacity to supply the need with an underpowered PSU for the GPU they offered]

Hello Wiryan =)
Sounds like either a power supply or graphics card issue to me. You could try downloading Almico's speedfan to check your temperatures just to be sure that they are fine.
You should contact Dell, they can probably troubleshoot the issue pretty fast/send a technician to you. The X51 randomly shutting down is a common issue if you check the forums over there. http://en.community.dell.com/owners-club/alienware/f/3746/t/19437557.aspx?PageIndex=1
I assume you have updated every driver to the latest?
Hope this helps! :)

My aurora which recently had its motherboard replaced has been shutting down seemingly at random. Sometimes when I'm watching hulu or playing a game.

It's probably heat-related -- start the Windows Task Manager, and minimize it, and then view HULU -- the CPU-meter probably will rise to 100% and stay there. The minimized Task Manager will be a small icon on the bottom-right of your monitor.

The "harder" the CPU works, the hotter it gets.

Be sure that the warm air leaving the back of your tower has some place to go -- don't back your tower directly into a wall, or put it tightly into a computer-desk.

Once I turn on my Alienware computer, it immediately shuts off. How can I fix it?

Are there any beeps? Does anything come up on the screen?
Suspected powersupply fault if no beeps are emitted. Try a new powersupply but remember to adhere to wattage..

M9700 starts up but shuts down few minutes after vista loads

Sounds like it is a problem with the m9700 overheating. I have just repaired an m9700 with this exact issue and it was resolved by taking the CPU heatblock off, removing the dried/caked-on heat compound, and replacing it with my own (Arctic Silver 5).
Was 91c before, now down to 74c max on load (Measured with coretemp). Random crashing has stopped.
