Well follow the cable down to the engine if you look at the bracket that the cable hooks to look around youll see a black wire ,that wire hooks to the coil make sure the wire is good and make sure it goes from the bracket to the coil and where the black wire hooks to the bracket on the engine is grounded when the safty handle is released watch the mechanics of thesafty st the engine its pretty simple thanks have a good day

When running and you push in the auger it will turn for a short time than motor well die

On the top of the right & left handle grips there are safety switches that you have to hold down and what happens is those switches get worn or the wiring connections to them get corroded or the wire brakes off you need to replace those safety switches

The lawn mower blades lock up and will not start

Did you pull the safety handle back all the way. or has it slipped so it doesn't work right. That is what the little safety handle is made to do not only to shut the engine off but stop the blades.
Has the engine seized up? Just ideas.
Is there junk that is holding the blades from turning.

Cuts out after start up

some have a manual off /on fuel control, some have a safety bar that you hold while running and the blade is engaged. I f you have the bar at the handle end and you do not engage the blade, and this still happens, check the cable from the handle to the engine and see if when you assembled the unit that the cable has been run properly.Ever year I remove the handle for winter storage and fold the cable and handle on top of mower, and not disconnect cables. In Alaska we get snow in winter and mower does not work well, a little humor. good luck..

Hi, N_prissy_pin and the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty wiring to any safety switch.
2. Safety switches loose at the mounting point.
3. Faulty kickstand safety switch.
4. Failed kickstand safety switch circuit diode.
5. Stretched side stand spring.
6. Side stand not coming up far enough to disengage switch.
7. Faulty clutch lever safety switch.
8. Faulty neutral safety switch.
9. Clutch not properly adjusted.
10. Clutch plates sticking, forward lurch

My motorcycle died suddenly in traffic andwill not start again. my battery seems to work fine , but it will not start.

Does it have a safety switch on the kickstand? If yes check to make sure it is working properly as it will shut the bike engine off. It's simple but most of the time it's the simple things that stop us...
