sometimes they get very hard,, take the inlet fuel line off it and see if it comes out.if not, warm it up with warm water, see if that helps,or buy a new primer bulb.it doesnt necessarily have to be the correct one,as long as its got in and an out pipe type fittings.without the primer, very hard to start

Clogged fuel line or carberator. my weedeater did this at the first of the season. i took off both lines going to the gas tank and blew on each line separately while holding throttle open on carberator. i felt the clog go thru and put back together, poured a little gas in intake and it started right up and the primer worked right. good luck

Mcculloch petrol strimmer

Agnes take of the cutting head again and see if it runs at full speed without it. If it does you have either put the head on too tight or it's the wrong head.

Primer bubble

The primer bubble just pulls fuel from the carb and dumps it back to the tank, to replace it diss connect the two hoses, there are then two small plastic legs on the back, press them both in and the primer will just pop out.

Mcculloch t 240 petrol will not start

If your petrol has been sitting in the machine for a long time then yes it is your petrol. Mix a new batch usually you cannot let that sit around for more than 30 days, I always try to use fresh mixes, usually that means making smaller batches unless you use your trimmer quite a bit, most people do not though and that's when problems arise.

Primer bulb not filling

Yes, I think the gas cap may be clogged. The gas cap must be able to breath, otherwise this vacuum will occur. Try starting your trimmer and when it starts to choke out, loosen the gas cap. It should get air back in the tank, then and keep running. If this works, clear the hole in the gas cap, or purchase a new one.
