Rear project TV problem

I saw you had a post about a rear project TV with a rolling lined screen. Can this be fixed?

My tv rolls so bad you can not see a thing. so what i did [ you may not believe it but it works for me] i removed the front cover removed the wood panel then in about 15 seconds it stopped rolling about 4 hours later it started to roll again so i set up a small [ 8" ] fan in front and it stopped rolling if i turn the fan off it starts rolling again when i turn the tv on in the morning it starts to roll until i turn the fan back on i know it sound stupid but it works the roll i have is very bad and it works

Yes it can be fixed depending on your model number if its the VS50605 they have a kit to repair the PIP module which controls vertical sync (Rolling) or you can bypass the module to correct it but you would lose the PIP function. Let me know if you need more info.

solder two lengths of wire on each leg of the two capacitors listed in the proceedure below so the caps wont short out when they cross over each other. Heres the by pass if you need me to clarify anything send me an email slinteriors@yahoo.com

There is a quick test you can do to determine if the problem is in your PIP module, using two 4.7uf/50v electrolytic capacitors. The PIP module plugs into two connectors on the main board. Remove the PIP module, and on connector VP on the main board (the 11 pin connector), use one cap to jumper from pin 7 to 9 (negative lead on pin 9); and use the other cap to jumper from pin 5 to 11 (negative lead on pin 11). If the PIP module is bad, you will now have video.

That is the camera not being in sync with the refresh rate of the TV. With consumer gear, there is really not much you can do about it.

I got this TV for FREE from a guy posting it on craigslist because he saw "BLUE SWIRL LINES" also knows as "Retrace Line" on the screen and he went to several repair people and got high repair costs so he was giving it away for free, but i found a guide that tells you how to adjust the tv to make the blue or green or red lines go away, aparantly the line show up because the voltage on the color ray gun tubes that get out of adjustment. Here is the Link to the REPAIR GUIDE. http://www.somelifeblog.com/2007/06/sony-projection-tv-red-line-repair.html
