My 2 year old sister threw my kyocera X-tc phone in the pool 3 days ago. The first thing I did was dry it off and take the battery out, I dried the battery and the phone again, and put the battery in. I turned on my phone and everything worked but the screen! I took the battery out and tried other things nothing worked everytime everything but the screen worked!

Hello, There is still water inside the phone that's why some part are still working and some not working yet.

What to do is this,

Unscrew the phone,
Get a Methylated spirit and a brush,
Bring out the board of the phone and use the methylated spirit to brush off remaining water on phone.
Keep under heat to dry off,
After board is dried, fix it back and screw back phone.

Am sure after doing this phone will work well.
But if phone still doesn't work ,that means water has damage some component inside the phone.
You will need to consult a phone technician for assistance.
Take care.

My XTC went in the ocean. I know it needs to be dried out inside but can't figure out how to get it apart to do the rest of the drying.

My Kyocera XTC fell in some water on Saturday morning, I removed it out of the water and immediately removed the battery, I wiped and shook out as much water as possible then used the blow dryer to dry...

If it was not totally dried before turning it on again, probably it got damaged. you can try to completely dry the phone before trying to use again.
Here is the procedure to take out all moisture trapped in the phone: wrap each piece, phone and accessories, in newspaper. Place a few handfuls of rice into a plastic bag and then place the wrapped phone in the bag with rice. The newspaper wrapping avoids direct contact of rice with your phone because the dust from the rice can get into the small areas of the phone. The newspaper and rice will absorb moisture. Leave it there (with the bag open) at least 24 hrs. Hope this helps!

My daughter poured her water on my camera. i dried it out and changed the batteries but it wont turn on this happened about 3 weeks ago it is not a year old yet but i dont have the receipt for warranty as...

I droped my cell phone in the lake, opps. Took the batter out and left batter and open phone on hot dash of my vehicle for a couple of days. somehow this dried out the components and the phone still works. You maight give this window bake a try. Also a phone call to Kodak wont hurt, they seem pretty good about repairs and cutomer retention. Good luck.

I dropped it down the toilet now it just wont work.

There is a possibility of it working again but water damage does alot of damaging things to phones. The best solution is to take the battery out and don't use it or try to charge it for a few days. Let it completely dry out and it might work but chances are slim. No matter what you hear or read do not place it in the oven, dry it with a hair dryer or even place it in rice. Those things will actually cause more damage to your phone.

My nokia 6681 fell in the water please help

First a comment - my 2 yr/old threw one of my Nokia phones into our pool a few years ago - I took the battery off and let it dry and it powered up just fine - I replaced the phone to be sure I had continued coverage but for the moment DON'T PANIC!

Log in to your service provider and print your most recent calls - you will likely remember who you called or who called you so you at least have some back up information.

I assume your phone service provider is AT&T - unfortunately your phone is not supported by their wireless backup program - a program that costs about $2.00 a month and auto syncs your contacts to a database on line. Make sure you select a phone that is compatible and subscribe to the wireless back up plan when you replace your phone - the $24 year is well worth the extra assurance!

KYOCERA K9, screen will not function, lites, but no information

ok, I had my k9- it was stashed in my filthy backpack, so I washed my backpack in the washer..forgot the phone for like..30 minutes..big screw-up- i pulled my soaking and newly cleaned k9 out of the washer and was like.i am screwed..I spoke to friend the next day and this is important advice..DO NOT TRY TO TURN IT ON! But Take out the battery, Then get uncooked rice-yes rice (no joke) get a air-tight zip lock -container -fill the container with rice and put the phone inside-seal-it-up...the rice will absorb all the excess moisture..if you leave it in..24-48 hours..no joke it worked for me..but if you try to turn it on before it is dry..you will fry the phone..disconnect battery.. put in dry-uncooked rice-air seal-wait 24-48-hours..wallla a dry -functioning phone..good luck--steve-o
