We live in the country and we have white film all over our dishes especially our glasses. My wife ran a cup of vinegar through the wash cycle and it solved our problems. I am not an expert at this but anything is worth a try. I hope I helped you.

I have a kitchenaid dishwasher that doesn't dissolve even liquid soap. At the end of the cycle there is hard compacted soap residue that ends up blocking the holes where the water shoots out and there are...

Try getting some calcium, lime and rust remover. Follow the instructions on the bottle and run the dishwasher empty using only the CLR. Check your incoming water lines for calcium or lime build up.

Whirlpool dishwasher model GU2275XTVQ1 cleans poorly on top only

Check your hose, pump and all water lines for lime scale build up. Sometimes if you dont use some kind of lime away product every few months your machine will/can get lime scale build up from hard water causing it to not properly dispense the water through out your machine. You can also try to run a load with no dishes and no soap but put just lime away in your machine. It might just clear any clogs you might have or starting to get.

Calcium & lime build-up on dishes, in dishwasher

Often times well water is hard. This is a problem with residue on dishes. There is a product available for dishwashers that goes in just like the soap and fast dry that aids in the removal of hard water. This product is available at most stores.

The dishes coming out dirty on my Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner IV. Cycle seems to complete. The soap is being used. Not sure how old it is ... it came with a house I just bought. Any suggestions?

Clean the jets on the unit. Jets are the small openings the water comes out of. Contact Whirlpool, follow their recomondations, or add some CLR or Lime Away to the washer without a load of dishes. Both products remove Calcium Lime and Rust deposits which impede the flow of water, causing your dishes to come out dirty

Our glasses are really cloudy. How do we clean the inside of the dishwasher?

This may be a hard water issue, but assuming it's not:

Pour 1 liter of white vinager into your dishwasher and run through a full cycle.

If this fails:

Pout 1/2 liter of CLR into you dishwasher and run through 3 full cycles.

N.B. Vinager is preffered as it's non-toxic.

Other possible issues:

hard water, lime/sediment buildup in hot water tank, not using rinse-aids like "jet-dry"

A humming sound is coming from my gas water heater.

It is probable a lime build up in the bottom of the water heater tank. You can remove the bottom heating element and clean the lime out, keep in mind this sometimes turns into quite a job though. And you may damage the heating element during removal and have to purchase a new element.

Clogged water dispenser in Bosch dishwasher

Hi, Logmanup (slight bouts with dyslexia, sorry)

By "spinning water dispensers", I assume you mean the spray arms, right? OK... if they are getting clogged with debris it would be nice to know what kind of debris. Pieces of broken glass? Plastic? Lime scale? Iron? And yes, when they get clogged they won't rotate, won't allow pressurized water through and therefore won't clean the dishes.

For the purpose of this solution, I'll assume that there are little white particles clogging up the jets on the spray arms. This indicates hard water and lime scale build up.

Other than completely disassembling the entire motor/pump assy. (you really don't want to go there), the best way to clear this out of the system is to use an over the counter chemical called Dishwasher Magic or something similar. If the lime scale build up is really bad (and it sounds like it is), use a couple of bottles to start with and follow up with a bottle per month thereafter.

As an aside... If I assumed correctly about the lime scale build up, that means that it's also affecting other appliances as well. Mainly, your hot water heater. If you haven't done it before, please read this to perform maintenance on it. And a product something like this for your washing machine.

I hope this was helpful. Let us know if this works or not. If not, please write back and we'll go a little deeper.

Dirty dishes

Try putting a cup of white vinegar in the empty dishwasher & running it on fast wash. Should eliminate film; do you have hard water where you live? If so lime build up could be the problem.
Hope this helps.Cheers.
