Yes Black is usually on the left side... The cartridge and printer should have symbols on which side the cartridge goes on.

How to install Canon MP 160 ink cartridges??

Turn on the printer and open the scanning unit. The cartridge holder unit will move to the left. There is marking on the printer housing B and C. B is black and C is color. B is the left side holder and C is the right side holder. The cartridges are inserted on a slight tilt. Angle the cartridge with the cartridge resting on its buttom, Push the cartridge in until it touch the front of the holder, then up until it click in place. You have to tilt the cartridge in order for it to snap in.

Do we have to have to have the colour cartridge to make mp160 work? i.e will it work with just the black cartridge?

Canon MP 169 will work only if both cartridges are inserted. If your color cartridge is empty then it will print only black (use grayscale option) but then also empty color cartridge should be present in the printer.

Hope it helps. Please rate.

I want to scan a document with my MP 180, need the steps to do it with the controlls that are ON the printer please...

For the MP 180, assuming the all-in-one is connected with a good USB cable (and port) that gives full bi-directional data transfer and that the computer has the full software installed, press the Scan button (third button from the left) then Press Black or Color (depending on your document). Then the MP Navigator should open on the computer and then scan into the software.

I hope this helps.

Will chip resetter for refilled ink carterages help me to use refilled canon carterages in PIZMA MP 145 printer

I have never used any resetters. I'm not even sure they exist. Perhaps those who do large quantities use them, but I only do them one or two at a time. I just fill the cartridges and continue to print.

Now I appear to have fixed the non-existent papaer

Must have all the cartages and then must have ink. The software is programed to stop all printing unless all ink is available. Sorry.

Impossible to use a Canon mp 180

Hi Lui,

this is a common problem when using refilled cartridges.

You can either go into Control Panel --> Printers and Faxes
Right click on the printer and select properties, then look for a maintenance or color section

There should be a setting to ignore the cartridge levels
If this fails look at the solutions here:

thanks, good luck HPC
