The wash or rinse cycle won't start until it's filled with water to the selected level. It should run the spin cycle with out any water in it. Try the spin and if it don't work the problem is the timer/on/off switch. It it does spin it's probably a water problem.

The water inlet valve is on the back area where the water hose connects to the washer. It may not be working. You should be able to hear it buzz when it's turned on. Try it with all different temp selections on the washer.

Your pressure switch stops the water and allows it to start the next cycle. If it's stuck on it won't allow the water to start. It's a switch either in the control panel or at the top of the tub with a small tube connected to it which goes down between the inner and outer tub. As the water level increases the air in the tube is compressed until there is enough pressure to make the switch stopping the water from filling. This tube can get clogged and the switch won't work. Remove the tube and clean it out. Blowing on the tube when it's still connected to the switch will make the switch if it's working and clear.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To start with check the door switch and then check the water inlet valve. If they seem to be fine then it means that the Lid Switch is defective as when this happens then washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

As dryer is working fine, it means the issue has been resolved.

Ok then please switch off the washing machine; take
out the power cable from the power socket and mains. Now let the washing
machine sit for more than twenty minutes without power and replace the power
cable and switch it on. The washing machine will be reset and should start
working normally. If still the issue is not resolved then please check the
timer and replace if required. Please do accept the solution if the issue is
resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

    Thanks

Very easy repair. By dropping the hose gravity takes over allowing the water to run out. The buzzing noise is the propeller on your pump jammed.(Brawires, coins, hairpins) < common causes.. STEP 1:Drop hose down to remove water from machine STEP 2:Lean machine forward on a 45,rest machine on a chair. STEP 3:Bottom left of machine is a round black cap, remove the cap(turn anti clockwise) STEP 4: Put your fingers in the pump and pull out the coins, hairpins etc from pump. STEP 5:Turn propeller to make sure it turns freely, put the round cap back on then your done. Thanks

Thermostat or heater most likely causes. Does timer button move round without doing anything? Timer knobs on Zanussi notorious for breaking off inside.

My washing machine will not stop filling up. When you switch it on and set it to run on a normal wash, it will start ok and pump out some of the water but then it doesn't seems to stop filling up with...

possibly no part at all.
take top off and locate the pressurestat. this is usually round with up to 9 elec connections and a small diameter pipe as well.
take pipe off and blow down hard and check no split in pipe.
to check pressostat itself, put on a piece of pipe of the same diameter. put machine on fill and gently blow into the pipe ie pressure. you should hear a click and the water will stop coming in

Washing machine keeps taking water in even after programme has stopped

poss moisture on your control module causing tracking . unplug your machine from the mains and take the back panel off, you can try blowdrying the module down in the bottom left hand corner or you can take it off (noting where all the leads go to),get an old toothbrush and clean the solered side around the bottom of the board failing that you will most probably have to change it

Broken machine

these machines are a pain. the dial is supposed to click round when there is a fault in a component such as the pump etc but in my experience it is just as likely to be the module. all you can do is to check the pump and heater and whatever else you think you can check and if all ok its the module. not worth repairing in my opinion

Indesit W123 s UK water overflows from the detergent draw

My machine clicked round, although I did not have the water overflow. I managed to unlock the pump filter, on the front of the machine under the lower panel. This was fiddly. I removed a coin. The machine worked again, but two cycles later starting clicking round the timer. I called an engineer - it worked when he was here, he checked the element and pump and said it was OK. When he had gone, it clicked round the timer again! He came again, and once again it worked perfectly when he was here. Eventually I checked the pump filter again, and removed another two coins. At the moment - it is working!
