Question about Nintendo Super NES Console
First thing you should check is the connection you made to the television.
Ensure your tv station is on the AV mode or AV channel, or you can search for its frequency by searching automatically or manually through the menu.
Also, ensure the cartridge you are trying to play is properly inserted into the game, you can try different cartridges to see if it does the same. If it does, then the cartridge slot is faulty and needs repairs.
It is not the cable that is faulty.
If it was the cable, you will not have the black screen in the first place.

Note: How to reset video output settings
If you are attempting to change to an HDMI cable from a different video cable or if the video output settings do not match those required for the display in use, the screen may stay black. If the screen stays black for more than 30 seconds, you may need to reset the video output settings of the PS3.
