If your hardware changes are not detected then restart your system and then see if not then follow the easy steps and fix your problem

What it fixes...

  • When you install a hardware device, it is not detected
  • Determine if your audio device is plugged in
  • Driver updates aren't automatically installed by Windows Update
  • You receive one of the following errors:
    • Your &ltDevice Name> is currently disabled or turned off in Windows
    • Your &ltDevice Name> has a driver problem and needs to be reinstalled
    • Windows has detected a problem with your &ltDevice Name>, it is not working properly
    • There is no driver installed for your &ltDevice Name>

Does it matter which usb port I connect a printer cable to?

No problem as to which port you plug in, but make sure the Com port/RS-232/USB Port is enabled to detect the hardware. The device won't detect the hardware if you haven't made the changes in BIOS or port enabled in device manager (system properties>hardware). Hope this solves the query.

Dont have the original hard disk in my aspire 3000, but I want to restore it to factory settings ??

Go to the acer site, they have the software. I assume you had everything on the old hard drive. Load windows onto your new hard drive. It will detect all your hardware. Actually, since you changed hardware, it no longer is an aspire 3000. I changed out all my stuff in my acer aspire to keep it up to date. The only thing left is the box. As you change hardware the motherboard will detect and adapt. You may still see the aspire logo as it is burned into the bios.

Dvdrw can not detect in dell astro 1400 notebook

Check your system BIOS whether it is Detected there, if no, Shutdown your system, Press your CD-Rom drive towards the system firmly (Incase its making a partial contact), and restart your system. If Yes, then Start your system, Right-Click on my computer, go to properties, Device Manager, DVD/CDRom Drives. and click on it. if your CD Rom Drive is not detected there, then on the Device Manager Screen, click on Action, Scan for hardware changes, your system should detect it automatically. But if its already there, right-click on it, Uninstall it and do the scan system for hardware changes again. It should solve the problem like that.
