Even though i have uninstalled and reinstalled my camera from the original disk it wont detect my camera or that i have installed it, in the camera and scanner folder its not there, though i hav installed the digimax and adobe etc user manual etc. Whats going on its driving me mad

Remove and reinstall all USB controllers
To remove and reinstall all USB controllers, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.
Click the Hardware tab.
Click the Device Manager button.
Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
Right-click every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers node, and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.

Sounds like there is no connection between your camera and your pc. Try another USB port on your PC. You actually do not require a driver for XP. XP will automatically detect the camera. SP2 + 3 If all fails, get a card reader.
The easiest way to correct that is to uninstall and reinstall the DSS player software. Before you go so far though, open DSS Player and go to Tools then Options and make sure the Auto download option is checked. If the option is checked but not working just uninstall and reinstall to reset the drive associations.
