Remove the lens cap. The eyepieces go on the small end of the telescope.

My camera turns off with the lens half way in, and when i try to turn it on it makes a beeping sound and the red light flashes . the screen stays blank/black, whats the problem how can i fix it??????

Hi, it could be that the lens got some dust or even sand particles between the lens covers. You might need to take it in to your local camera repair shop for a more detailed answer, but I had the same issue with my lens cover that only closed half.

Hope this helps.

I have two black lines down the middle of page on Toshiba 1360. How do you clean all mirrors on this

remove the glass [two screws on the scale] very carefully clean the mirror that is near the lamp that is mirror 1 then clean the two mirrors that are nearest the side that the paper comes out that is mirrors 2+3 then remove the black lens cover i think it is held in place with two screws then clean the mirror that is there dont try to cean the mirror under it yet then open your machine and remove the cleaner unit follow the wire that goes to the unit and remove the black cover and unplug the unit, remove the toner cartridge you eill see either a black screw or a gold screw remove it slide out the unit and put one side gently.then look in the machine you will se a black cover slide your fingers in on the plate nearest you and you will feel a black screw remove the screw and then the cover will be loose remove it and clean the two mirrors there as well as the discharge lamps look in the optics cavity there are two slots near the lens, slide the two pins on the cover that you removed from the inside of the machine into them and slide upwards and retighten the black screw the rest is done in reverse good luck

I have Sony VPL CS6 projector and the lens cover stays open and wont shut to cover the lens!! The Lens/Cover light on it flashes? It does project for about 15seconds or so but then goes off, this is when...

It is possible that there can be few reasons for the fault siad:
1.the lamp can be faulty
2. the filter can be clogged.
3. the lens cap trigger switch can be faulty and staying on
4.The power supply can be faulty, not delivering the power but shuts off.
5,the main processor board can be faulty witth errors.
It might need board swapping to confirm.

When I turn it on the screen stays black. When I try to take pictures they are black. The flash is working. I can sight through the view finder. I can view existing pictures on the LCD screen so I am sure...

your dead right the lens is closed when the unit is turned on a small latch pulls away a black sheld that stops light (direct) from damaging the lens these latches fail some times and are real expensive to have fixed

im sorry but i think its time to go looking for a new camera

good luck

When i turn it on it says turn off and on again

I have just had exactly the same thing on my daughter's NV3. In this case the lens cover would not open but if you power on the camera with you finger on the display button you can view stored images. If the lens cover is jammed you need to open the casing and maybe take the lens cover assembly apart. You need a very small cross head screwdriver (No.00 should be OK). There are 5 screws in total, 4 screws on the outside of the case (3 plus1 under the headphone socket cap) and 1 inside the battery compartment. You need to remove all 5 to remove the camera front casing. There are some retaining springs top and bottom on the front cover, gently prize off to reveal the lens cover assembly. Check to see if the lens cover will operate by switching on and off - if it works then the camera front casing is preventing it from opening and is probably bent out of shape. A little careful bending back into shape should resolve the problem. If it still does not work with the casing removed, read on. This is the tricky part. There are two extremely small, black retaining screws to the left hand side which hold the assembly onto the lens cover motor. Remove these screws and the front of the lens cover assembly to reveal the lens cover and the back plate of the assembly. Lift off the lens cover and switch on the camera. If the motor is still working, you will see a short black peg move from side to side as you turn the camera on and off. Thoroughly clean the lens cover and assembly, remove any obstruction and replace the lens cover making sure you locate the hole in the lens cover over the motor peg (described above).
The motor is magnetic and will attract the screws away from their holes if you replace the assembly front straight away, so when you replace the front of the lens cover assembly, place the screws in the correct holes before lowering it into place and then screw onto the motor/assembly back. Test that the lens cover opens and closes and replace the Camera front cover taking care not to bend it too much - if this becomes distorted it can stop the lens cover from operating resulting in the same problem.

Blackness?

Have you tried reading the instructions? How long did you buy it? Try to press the pad or stick like a button inwards. That is how I get the image to go on my digital camera. Did it work?

Hi, I had the same problem and when I took my sliding lens cover off I released that the black level was broken.  Luckily I had an old olympus which had the same part which I glued on and now it works perfectly.  I would take the camera apart and take a picture for you but it was very hard to replace the case without breaking my repaired piece.  This is what the small black lever should look like.  (first one is from side, second is from top) It turns when the case it sided along which turns a lever inside and opens the lens.  As shown in the first picture, the small black vertical part is what was broken on mine.  Try moving the part with a screw driver from side to side to see if that opens the lens.     7ccb095.pngI hope this helps in some way.  Just ask me if you want any more help with the camera.  jameswalker3  :)

Lens cover stays open

Try blowing lots of compressed air around the open lens shutter to clean the mechanism. Or use a hair dryer for a few seconds (don't want to heat up the camera). Also with the lens barrel extended and pointed downward, tap the lens barrel with a pencil while you extend and retract the lens by powering the camera on and off. A grain of sand in the mechanism is usually the culprit, and you want to try to dislodge it.

You can open it up, but only as a very last resort. The above procedures usually work if you try them enough. But for those particularly nasty stuck mechanisms, here's an example repair on a Canon Powershot A400 (do this at your own risk, and it will void your warranty):
