Have you considered NOT connecting the camera to the computer?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive.

Camera, the charger cord broke, got a new one, not sure if it's charging cause it always shows the MSDC on the screen when I turn it on. What has happen to my camera? It is a Vivitar ViviCam x029

Are you charging it by connecting to a computer? The MSDC message says that the camera is connected to a computer. What happens if you disconnect it and then turn it on?

I can't install the software for my Vivitar Vivicam X029 Digital Camera

You don't need any special software.
