Question about Printers & Copiers

My Office jet 7110 says the yellow print head is bad. Can this be fixed? I just replaced the red printhead and the color ink cartridge. It will not print yellow when I did the test.

My printer reads bad printhead on magenta and yellow, but they are new. Any suggestions?

We have an hp offricejet 7140xi all-in-one that said the magenta print head was bad. Replaced it, cleaned and alligned but still said the same thing. Pulled it and the yellow out, reinserted and now it says the yellow printhead it bad. It has a new ink cartridge. What is going on?

I received an error message stating that the yellow printhead is damaged on my HP Officejet 7130 printer. I replaced the yellow printhead and attempted to align the printheads. It failed and still states that the yellow printhead is damaged. Any recommendations?

I have an HP Photosmart C3180 printer color ink issue. Instead of printing yellow its printing pink. I've cleaned the head multiple times and the ink cartridge is brand new. Please advise. Thanks!

If what you're saying is still the result after cleaning everything up, there must already be something wrong with the printhead because the printheads are the one's that are responsible for the mixture of the ink cartridges.
Try calling HP Tech Support. They might still be able to replace the printheads for you.

My office jet L7590 printer suddenly quit on me. It keeps playing a message that says the printhead has a problem

Did you let one of your inks run dry? If so, you need to replace the effected printhead. This model has two, one for black and yellow, and a second for cyan and magenta. If you let the yellow run dry but have tons of black, it still effects the black/yellow printhead. Same with the other, either color going dry makes its printhead go bad. Either printhead will set you back about $75. Easy to remove and replace once you get the new printhead.

Bottom line with this model of printer...DON'T let you inks run dry. A new ink cartridge is $20 vs. $75 for a new printhead.

FYI - This is the most common mistake/problem with this printer. The Inkheads are built to last at least 40,000 prints. That's several years for most of us, that is unless you let the inks run dry.

This document provides information on how to replace a printhead or ink cartridge.A printhead may need replacing when print quality issues cannot be resolved by cleaning the printheads or a front-panel display message indicates a printhead needs to be replaced. An ink cartridge needs replacing when a front-panel display message indicates either:

  • Ink cartridge approaching expiration date

I'm not sure you specified the correct printer. The 7110 printhead is not pentagonal. Is your printer the 7110 all-in-one?

Cannon i 960 printer

Try first replacing the cartridge , possibly with an original one.
With new printer cartridge on do head clean a couple of times, to clean the print head.
If it still prints wrong color then the print head is faulty, one of the colors jets is clogged.
You can remove the printhead and leave it in cleaning solution or isopropyl alcohol overnight, probably you will need to replace the printhead.

Did you use third party carts?

If yes, buy original brother ink carts and do the cleaning cycle again. If you are lucky the printhead isnt clogged due to the third party ink which has not the additives and glycerin needed for the printhead to run without probs.

In case the head is clogged there is nothing more what you can do. Sorry!  A replacement might costs more than a new mfc 440cn!

So many models. Does this model have printheads under the ink carts? If so, remove the print head and clean the jets with a damp Bounty paper towel. Fold the towel up a few times and blot the head into it a few times to clean out the dries ink.
