As i have 2 HDMI inputs being used, namely 1 for Sky-plus HD, and 2 for PS3 this shadowy image is still there, sometimes though depending on the programme you cant notice it at all, its very strange .

These bars are always stationary and always the same pattern.

Mine is 18 months old and over the last week - the right half of my screen has become lighter and dark and intense colours on that side now blur... should i send it back?

    Hi,

my tv has developed coloured horizontal bars whenever the tv is on, you cannot see the picture at all?

    Many thanks.

yes, I have a kind of 'grid' inset within almost the full size of the screen (split into 4 rectangles of equal size). The most obvious area are also the 'tram' lines that I have either side of the screen (not in the black area but part of the picture itself.

I have removed all other connections to the TV to make sure that it is not being interfered with. I believe it to be something related to the backlight. It seems to be becoming more prominent. I have adjusted all of the settings within the menus but it makes no difference.

I also experienced an incredibly faint 'watermark' of ITV1 withina central part of the top left section of the picture (this was evident even when viewing on BBC1 !)

The above can only really be spotted by the trained eye! I am an expert in digital imaging....so I tend to spot more than most....but I'm hoping someone has had similar problems and has a fix?

    Many thanks!

Ihave the same problem. A faint imprint of the sky menu remains while vewing, the best way to get rid of this is to turn off at the wall for up to 10 mins. this proves it cant be screen burn.

Is this with all inputs or only some? Also, does it change at all as the set is on for longer periods of time?
Thanks,
Dan

Do these bars move at all or are they stationary?

Blue tint across screen and black shadow of sort

Hi , it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem. Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. Have a blessed one!

Pink bar across top of tv screen

This could be from 2 things. 1 is the optical block is going bad or 2 you got a peice of dust blown in from the cooling fan and its blocking the color filter internally. If you are capable you can take the tv apart and blow compressed air into the color block and remove the dust. Hope this helps

Toshiba 52HMX95 DLP has weird gray think line

DLP TVs work projecting light throught a tube covered with mirrors, called the light tunnel.

The gray shadow it is something in the middle of the light tunnel, probably a mirror that has gone out of place when you moved the TV.

JVC TV 27" Black line on top of screen

This is for the original problem.. Not the second post.

It's a problem in the horizontal deflection circuit. The parts will be available, but you will be in for some daignostic repairs also to find out why it failing or if it has failed on it's own.
There should be a few caps near the IC (an LA7840) that could also be causing the problem. Click the link, it will make it easier to locate the part inside.

This is the kind of repair best left to a TV tech, but get it done now and it won't cost anywhere near as much as it will later.

No picture with Vertical bars across screen

It sounds like one of the flexes on the LCD cube has either become unplugged/ loose, (there is a gate that locks the flex in connector on the DMD board), or flex damaged. Has the TV recently been moved or strongly jarred?
