Hello KESUMAN,

Try going to your PC manufacture's website to see if you can down load the driver directly from them.

If you have Windows XP then try this, for Windows 7 and Vista also the procedure is similar. If you have Vista or 7 then tell me I'll post the tutorial for that also.
  1. In Windows XP, click the Start button and select Control Panel.

  2. Click the Network and Internet Connections category.

  3. Note: If you are using Classic View, you will see the control panel icons instead of categories. Double-click the Network Connections icon.

NO HDD RECOVERY AREA !

first boot pc, then right before windows would start, press either F2 or F8,, I think it's F2, this will bring you to bios settings, look for bootup device options, Set cd-rom as first bootup device, then Hard drive as second device, Then save settings, insert recover cd, then restart pc, it will immediately boot up your recover cd or windows disc

Ethernet on DELL 4550 with TP-link doesn't work

Hi there,

pinging 127.0.0.1 just tells you that your network card is operational and reacheable by your system.

I have a couple of suggestions - check them out and let me know what you found out.

  • Go to Network Connections / Local Area Connection / General Tab / Properties / Internet Protocol (TCPIP) (from the list)/ Properties. Are all settings set to "Obtain automatacally..."?
  • Is your operating system Windows XP Home or Professional (with Service Pack 2 installed)?
  • Have you installed the AirPort Utility software that came on the CD? (Check Start > All Programs > AirPort)
  • You have to have the software installed in order to setup the router.
  • What is your internet connection: Cable or DSL?
  • Take a look at this document "Designing AirPort Networks" which is also on the CD that came with the device. If you don't have it, here is the download (link). Go to page 25 and follow the instructions for PPPoE (if you have DSL service) or DHCP (if you have cable service).

Let me know how that works for you and if you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to look further into that if this did not work for you.

Local area connection icon disappeared after formatting?

Please see this link. You will need to download and install the drivers for your network adapter. You can download these from either the manufacturer's website or the motherboard or network card mfr's site. Please see this tutorial on how to do this.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

I dont have recovery CD for my laptop

Being that you don't have the recovery cd, I would probably do the following (in this order):

1. Do a System Recovery (go to Start > Help and Support > type in System Recovery in the search field > look for Run System Recovery Wizard)

2. If the above didn't fix my problem, then I would try to determine if it was a hardware issue (bad RAM, fan, processor, etc) or if it was definitely a software issue (operating system is kaput, virus, etc...)

3. Contact Toshiba and find out how much it would cost to get another Recovery CD.

4. If it costed more than $100 dollars (and you're a little computer inclined) then I would buy myself a fresh Windows XP Home Edition OEM version (runs about $90 if not less)

BUT... before sticking in that cd, make sure that you download the device drivers or back up your device drivers for your system (network driver, graphics drivers, chipset drivers).. once you've backed up those things onto a cd or disk, then I would go ahead and put in a fresh copy of Windows XP and reformat the computer.

Once thats done, you can put in that back cd you made and have the computer find the drivers on your disc when it says "New Hardware Found..." and just make sure you have it search your disc drive.

IF it doesn't cost much to get a Recover CD from Toshiba, then by all means, get it and put that bad boy in. Of course, when formatting anything, back up your files that you need (address book, documents, etc) and then reformat with the CD.

I DONT HAVE LOCAL AREA CONNECTION in network connection

You can download the latest lan card driver from their website, usually the drivers that are on the cd are not updated.

http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?CategoryID=1&TypeID=32&DetailID=552&DetailName=Feature&MenuID=7&LanID=9

http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?CategoryID=1&TypeID=32&DetailID=531&DetailName=Feature&MenuID=7&LanID=9

You can also install a separate lan card on your computer or you can also buy usb to lan adapter that you can insert on your usb drive, you can google USB TO LAN ADAPTER.
