Question about Printers & Copiers
I recently resolved the same problem by going into the Printer and Faxes under Control Panel. Look for the printer icon that shows in offline status. Right click 'Properties' and go to the Ports tab folder. Select the Port IP address in question and click on 'Configure Port' button. Click on the check box next to SNMP [SNMP status enabled] to remove the check mark and to disable the option. Click OK on the Configure Port window. Click Close on the properties window. Hope this helps.

1) Select the Properties of the Printer. (In Vista Right Click Printer > Run As Administrator > Properties)
2) Select the PORTS tab
3) Select the Printer Port (BRN00807710654E or something similar) and select CONFIGURE
4) Change the Printer Name or IP Address to the actual printer IP#
Please Note: This will work better if you set your printer to use a static IP#. Simply select a ip# above the DHCP range of your router. This will stop the printer from ever receiving a different ip# at start up.

Check the following steps to fix Printer Offline Error :
Go to system settings and select the 'Printer' option.
Right-click on the printer and enable the 'Use Printer Online' function.
Cancel all the printing jobs till that moment and redo the process.
Sometimes the 'Printer Offline' message occurs due to a 'Job Stuck' issue.
Check all network connections and functions.
Be sure the network interfaces work properly.
Turn the printer off and on to see whether the device is working properly.

I had the same problem with my Brother MFC-465CN printer. I found that the printer IP address had changed (probably when I installed a different router) to an IP address that was no longer compatible with my router. The printer TCP/IP Boot Method had also changed from Auto to Static, meaning that the printer IP was not going to change without my help.
eg my printer IP was 22.214.171.124, whereas my router was set to serve IP addresses in the 198.162.0.xxx range. This mean't the router and printer were not talking to each other.
To correct was easy. Need to change the TCP/IP Boot Method on the printer from Static to Auto. Reboot the router and it will now assign a usable IP to the printer. No changes needed on the computer side.
