no, there was no error message that popped up. Also I did replace the light cyan and light magenta cartridge just before I got the flashing lights. But, I changed them to another new cartridge and it didn't make any difference. I took all cartridges out and put all new back in and still get the red lights flashing back and forth. I disconnected the usb cord from the computor and tried to power up like that. Still the same problem. I unplugged the printer and let it sit fo 5 min, then plugged back in and the problem is still there. This did all start when I changed the two cartirdges mention earlier.

I tried powering down the printer and removing the ink cartridges and puting them back in again making sure they where seated correctly. As soon as I power on the printer it immedietly starts flashing the red lights back and forth. Again, both red lights do not flash at the same time, they go back and forth like a railroad crossing sign would do. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the ink cartridges. I've put new cartridges in and it didn't make a difference. I have taken the ink cartridges out and powered up and I get the same thing.

I have two of these printers. I checked out the cartridges in the other printer and they work fine. I took the cartridges from the working printer and put them into the non working printer and still got the lights flashing.

I do not know if the print heads are damaged. I really don't know how to check that. It was working ok until I changed two ink cartridges and then the flashing lights came on. So I have to assume that the print heads are installed correctly.

Hello,
Just a small but very important question. Is the CD/DVD tray closed?
This may cause flashing lights.

This picture shows the tray (ref. Epson troubleshooting guide)

Hi,

If I may add to the other posts....

Have you done a reset? The is a little utility program (third party) designed to reset most Epson inkjet models. Pls click on this link. Download the SSC Epson Printer Utility. Install and run.
An excerpt from here ":...Then in your toolbar right click on the SSC Service Utility and select show main window . With your printer online to your PC, select from there your printer in both boxes that is in the main list and also installed printe.
Close the window right click again on the icon and select Protection Counter Show current value.
You will then see both the maximum count allowed and the count of your printer which at full will be very near to or just over that count.
Click ok to exit and then select Protection Counter again but this time Reset Counter Protection.
Click it to set to zero..."

If problem persist, try checking out all other features of the utility program and perform test/resets as may be applicable.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

This error sequence may appear on a printer, if a print head is not installed, is installed improperly, or is defective.

Once you have verified that a print head is installed is properly in place, press the printer’s power button to turn off the printer. Then power the printer back on.

If the power LED still displays the error sequence, you should contact your printer manufacturer because the print head may be damaged.

It is due to improperly fitted catridges...
try fitting the catridges in the slot properly again..

If that doesn work make sure that the catridges you have used match with your printer,...check if it is compatible with your printer?

I hope this will help you :)
* Green Power light flashes- The printer is receiving a print job, replacing an ink cartridge, charging ink, or cleaning the print head.
* RED paper light is On- If the CD/DVD try guide is open, close the CD/DVD tray guide, load paper, then press the paper button. Your paper ran out or multiple sheets loaded at the same time . Load paper and press the paper butoon to resume printing.
* RED paper light flashes- Paper is jammed in the printer. Press the paper button to eject the jammed paper. If the light is still flashing , open the cover and remove all paper, including any jammed or torn pieces. Then reload paper and press the paper button to continue printing.
* RED Ink Light Flashes - One or more cartridges are low on ink. Check the message that appears on your screen to determine which cartridge is low, or follow the instructions in " Checking the Ink Supply". Make sure you have a replacement cartridge.
* RED Ink Light is ON- One or more cartridges are out of ink or not installed. If you have just installed a new cartridge, it may be incomaptible with the printer or incorrectly installed. Reinstall it or replace it with the correct cartridge
* RED Ink and RED paper lights flash alternately- The CD/DVD tray guide was left open when you turned on the printer or when printing on paper. Just simply close it/

Canon IP4300 flashes orange and green

Try keeping the paper only in the bottom tray (there's a tray in the bottom) Try pulling any paper out of the top and just close that top tray. Open up the head so that u can see the ink cartridges and turn the printer on and off and maybe it will center itself again. If it's still not working (even if lights aren't red and print head wont align in the center) try manually moving the head back and forth like 18 times so you can lubricate that rail in the back that's holding it. After that, re-turn it off and on again.

Two red lights blinking

The flashing red light next to a page and bin indicates paper or a CD/DVD has jammed in the printer.

The flashing red light next to the drop indicates that the ink is low - if it is solid on then the ink is out.

Both of these lights flashing rapidly together means taht the print head carriage is obstructed by jammed paper or some other material and cannot return to the home position. Turn off the printer then open the paper support and the printer cover. Then remove any paper or other obstructions from the paper path by hand / tweezers. Then, turn the printer back on and the fault should clear. If the lights are stioll flashing then check the paper path again and see if the print head carriage assembly is jammed by gently moving it very slightly along the carriage. Don't force this or do this too hard or too far as you can cause some damage to the drive

Epson C66 red light stays on for ink

The first time you install ink cartridges, the printer must charge its print head for about 90 seconds. Wait until charging finishes (the green power.jpg power light stops flashing) before you turn off the printer, or

it may charge improperly and use excess ink the next time you turn it on. If the printer stops moving or making noise, but the green power.jpg power light is still flashing after 5 minutes, turn off the printer. If the light is still flashing when you turn it back on, contact Epson.
Turn off the printer, then make sure the ink cartridges are inserted completely and the ink cartridge cover is closed completely. Also make sure no packing material remains in the printer. Wait a moment, then turn the printer back on to clear the error.

Flashing red light

On the alarm and data light blinking, it is saying the toner cartridge is empty. You will need to replace it. Once in a while you can remove the toner cartridge and shake it and have it work for a little while longer. This does not work all the time however.
If you can't get it to work by shaking it, you will need to purchase a new toner cartridge.

When you have the new cartridge, you will need to slide the blue corona wire cleaner back and forth. This is just in front of the toner cartridge in the drum unit on the top of the drum unit. There is a small light blue colored piece of plastic with an arrow in it that you will just push back and forth. This will help the drum unit do its job better.

Turn the printer off. Open the cover and check for any foreign objects that can cause your print head not to move. Check if you have put the ink cartridges correctly and make sure that the cover for the ink tray is closed. Turn the printer on, if your going to see the same status of the lights, it will be a hardware issue.
