Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Hi, when I print on my Canon i250, it's somehow squashing the text so that there is more white space at the bottom of the page. So for example, when I print labels, they are all out of alignment. I took the same file to a printers and it came out fine, so I know it's the printer not the way I've laid out the labels. But it's doing it with all text, not just labels. Can you help? Many thanks. Jenny

Make sure you have the most current drivers from Canon. Go here. It takes a few seconds to load all the files available. Select your operating system, and after a few more seconds, you should see the driver files to download. Follow the instructions to download and install the driver.

I am editing a pagemaker file that has previously been printed. I need to keep the page from not reflowing...so if I take out just one space the entire document reflows...how can I stop that from happening

Can you elaborate a bit more what exactly is required ? What I undersand is that you need to remove a "one line space" from any page but do not want the matter from the next page to come in the current page.

Well if that is the case what you can do is remove the one line space or maybe more lines from page 1 (for example). If the matter from page 2 comes to page one, click on arrow tool and select the text matter on page one to select it. Click on the "+" sign at the bottom of selection and drag above the unwanted text.

I hope I have made myself clear.

Have you used page setup in words? is it a problem of A4 or Letter page size? If you have A4 as default in Word and Letter as default in the printer it would react that way (letter is wider while A4 is longer...)

While printing photos my printer has white vertical lines

Sounds like you need to re-align the print cartridge . The reason the text comes out ok is probably because it is only using the black cartridge for text. The color cartridge is the one that's out of alignment. You may have some sort of Cannon utility running in the task bar that will allow you to easily allign the print cartridges. If not, go to the main "Printers and Faxes" window, RIGHT-click on the printer and select "Properties". You should be able to find a button in the properties that's labeled something like re-align print cartridges. It will print out a series of test pages and ask you to select the set of lines that looks the straightest and type it in. It's a good idea to do this every time you replace a cartrige. Hope this helps, If I was able to FixYa, please remember to rate me. Thanks.

Printer switching orientation

Make sure that manual feed is set to letter, on the printer front panel. This is a tabloid printer, so letter size sheets are fed long edge. The cassette will print okay because the media size info for the cassette is read by the printer from the cassette cams.
