Question about Acer Aspire 5610-4648 Notebook
An error message "USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED" keeps poping up when i boot my ACER ASPIRE 5610 laptop. The Acer OrbiCam also gives this message when I click on the desktop icon. - "A WEBCAM WAS NOT FOUND OR IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY".
Please how do I solve this error as I can no longer use my webcam.
I woudl visit the dell website and check that you have all your device drivers installed.
Windows Xp is a pain in the A** for Usb devices.
If they arent in the tiny microsfot generated list of hardware Xp wont recognise it.
What you will have to do is find out which device it actually is and click on te bubble or follow the following steps.
Go into start, the accross to control panel, then go to switch to classic view on the side pane.
Now look for an icon entitled system. open up system, go to the hardware tab and click on Device mamnager within that tab. this should now bring up the device manager window, Scroll through it untill you find usb Entitled Universal serial bus etc.... click on that and it should open up a list of all of the connect usb devices and their hub within the computer,
If any of the devices listed come up with a yellow and black ! mark click on it to open it up,
It shoudl give you some sort fo description of the device, From here you can browse now to the dell website or the device company website and download the Correct and current driver.
Try reinstalling or sometimes the download once completed will give you a fix option, select one or the other and try it out follow all the listed directions withing the download and see how you go.
If there is no ! mark Try shiutting down your pc unplug everything adn once started up one by one slowly plug each usb device back into the pc and you should be able to figure which device it is thats not recognised. Allwasy go to the genuine Driver as in if its a dell webcam go to the dell page not any others such as brothersoft.com as they are garbage designed to infect your computer 99% of the time.
If it is the webcam then go to the acer orbicam website download the driver , uninstall the old driver , restart with it unplugged if possible and windows should re detect the device and ask you if you want to download the driver, Dont follwo the windows pane jsut click canel or exi9t and install your driver from the download.
Hope this helps you out
P.s. if you need any more help jsut post more details on your question and ill check back and try again

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
