Question about Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9549L Top Load Washer

1 Answer

No agitation on any cycle.

The water fills, no problem spinning. However when the timer reaches agitation I get no action- just a sort of buzzing/clicking sound from the timer.
Does timer, part 3951702E, need replacement or is this something else?

GE WBSR3140D washing machine relatively new, agitator won't spin on any cycle, the unit will spin dry, pulled agitator to check for a jam, spun motor by hand and everything was free to spin, motor is reversible for both agitation and spinning the drum, checked the power at the plug at the motor at different cycles and not receiving power at the motor during the agitation cycle, assume malfunction with the timer switch then, any thoughts???

Check out the posting for replacing the agitator dogs. They are usually located inside the agitator under the fabric softener dispenser.

Maytag Model# A9200 Washing machine will fill with water, but will not agitate. once the timer reaches the spin cycle it spins out. When washer is supposed to be agitating washer doesnt make a sound.

Hello,
That sounds to me like the timer is going to be the problem
i base that on that it spins/drains..so that eliminates the lid switch
also the motor is ruled out since it runs in the spin cycle
plus the water level switch is good or it would overfill

so to me based on that its the timer

the part number for the timer is 207379 it could be purchased at your local appliance parts store or online at;

My wahser just stopped working it filled with water and then started agitating and then all the sudden stopped please help

When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water

I have a GE washer model # WHDRR418GWW. It is about 19 months old. It stopped agitating and spinning. It will fill with water and the timer/knob will go thru the cycles. But when it reaches the washing...

You have what is called "agitating dogs" there are usually 4 of them at the bottom of the agitator. They have small grippers which lock onto the agitator and agitates. If the washer is ever overfilled or over time filled to heavy this will wear down the nylon teeth on the "dogs". The top of the agitator will spin off, you will see a bolt inside at the bottom, remove bolt and the agitator will pull out. Google "agitating dogs on washer. It will give you pictures for a better understanding. If the belt was broken the washer would not drain, because the belt turns the pump. These dogs are about $5 and honestly easy to install. Good Luck.

FILLS WTANK WITH WATER AND DRAINS BUT DOES NOT AGITATE NOR SPINS

Hi. your timer assembly is faulty. it is not initiating the spin and proper wash cycle due to this malfunction. the timer is responsible for the actions and commands. if its defective, it will not carry out the initiations correctly.

Machine fills and agitates, but won't drain

It sounds like you pump is clogged. If there is something stuck in your pump the motor can't spin it to drain the water. If that is the problem then it's easy to fix. Simply clear the pump and put it back on, just make sure to clamp off the hoses to the pump with hose clamps or you will have water every where. If that is not the problem though then it means that your timer is bad and that is a little more expensive. Try the pump first though and hope that that is all it is. If not, like I said, you will need a new timer but most likely your pump is just clogged with something that is causing the pump motor to not spin. It could be a coin or a hair pin or even a sock or something. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.
