I'm getting a red outline on people's silhouette. Also getting a double image on printed words on my picture.

Colors fine but double image: does picture have red or blue outlines around lettering or images?


See attached photos, it they look like your trouble it is convergence problem, if not try to give better description of problem.

There are two common problems with these sets.

Problem #1) Convergence

Symptoms:

• Screen Looks 3D
• Colors wont align
• Video may look distorted

Problem #2 CRT Fluid has clouded over. Symtoms

• Dull looking video
• White looking video
• Halos around objects
• Red/Orange looking video

Unit will require the 2 STK392-110 convergence amps to be replaced along with a couple of low ohm resistors.

If you have double image sounds like you have a convergence problem which is very common with these units.Part #STK392-110

Sounds like your red is out of convergence. You may be able to adjust the convergence in the TVs menus. It may also be possible that the TVs convergence circuitry has gone bad. In that case it would be worth to have the TV repaired, convergence board are usually fairly inexpensive.

Your tv requires replacement of STK393-110 as it creates convergence problem and its available Parts Store here. If you want to do the job at your own, you need to know good soldering skills or get service of nearest TV repair shop.

you need to replace both convergence ICs they are STK392-110 you can get replacment ICs at the following link with free instalation intructions with pictures. Here is the link.

sounds like the red convergence Ic is weak ready to go out. try replacing the ICs around 10.00 do the blue as well as that will be next.

Solder connects = temporary fix.......Replace IC's..best
order two STK392-570 good quality.....16 to 22.00 each

hi there, its a color allignment problem, the adjusting ring is in the neck of the picture tube, the unit is on while adjusting it to the correct image. ty
