I have a red Omnitech MP3 (long and skinny one). Today I plugged it into the USB port and everything was as usual. The computer recognized my player and I went to transfer 2 songs from my hard drive and as soon as I went to paste the file transfer bar didn't show up. Then the wizard popped up and said it didn't recognize the storage unit and did I want to format it? I didn't but now when I turn on the player I get ''File system error" What have I done and how do I correct this? I have pushed all the buttons on the player and nothing changes. The volume numbers are working but there is no sound.
Yoou can only have so many files/folders in the root directory of the Omnitech MP3 player. Just create a folder and put all your songs in it and you will no longer have a limit (except the capacity of the drive)

Yes, the red light should be turned ON after connecting the Reader to te Computer. That means the Reader is taking charge. After getting it fully charged, the red light will be turned ON. If those things will not happen to your reader, perform the below mentioned stepos::
1. Connect the Reader to a different USB port of the Computer. 2. Connect the Reader directly to the USB port of the Computer; dont use any USB hub or adaptor to connect the Readr to the Comp. 3. Disconnect the Reader and then press the RESET button. 4. Try connecting the Reader to a different Computer to check whether the USB port of the Computer is working properly. 5. If the issue still persists, service may be required. Follow the below link to initiate the repair: http://eservice.sony.com/
I have fixed our problem! Hope this helps you out. I downloaded a manual for the 44090 model.
Make sure that you don't have it plugged into the usb port and the player is switched to mp3 mode. Open the software and then when it says to plug it in now, you need to turn the player into music mode. Press and hold for 3 to 4 seconds the centre power/play/pause button. It will start the red light flashing. Once the light is flashing it is in music mode. Plug in to the usb port and the computer should recognise it bringing up the install now button for the software. Click 'install now' and it should work.
I don't use the software to load songs I just use windows media player and once I had passed this install now bit media player recognised it instantly.
Everytime you want to listen to music you need to put the player into music mode by holding down that button till the red light flashes. Once music is loaded on it starts playing as soon as that red light starts flashing!
Good luck and I really hope this works out for you too.
Just connect it to the pc and transfer music files into it to listen music from it on the move...!!! You should be provided with USB cable for connecting it to the system to access the player...!!!
Have a nice day..!!! Hope a good rating from u...!!!
